Looks like you're finally signing a CB and a striker?

I presume there's still loads of complaining in here though?

People don't realise the history of the club. We have never been a team like United that can now pluck players from big European sides in their prime when that big team wants to keep them.

We have always bought promising players/rejects from big clubs or developed our own players. People who cry for big name striker all of the time don't realise this very basic history of the club - that at Arsenal we make stars, we don't buy them ready made off the shelf. (Tbf, developing players to become stars was United too when Fergie was around but their club has become a vacuous shell reflecting their vacuous new manager).

The same Chelsea who have 5 defenders for 4 positions and have limped through their first 2 fixtures? Give me a ****ing break. We have just as much chance of finishing ahead of them than they do over us.

Really once we get a defender your argument is pretty invalid. We also have a much, much, much better attack than yours.

The point of moving to the Emirates was to be able to do exactly that.

Except every major European club does not need our money because they are also rich. Even an underperforming AC Milan are owned by a Chinese consortium and hence they can reject big money bids from Chelsea for their defenders.

Hence the real effect of the Emirates was just to keep up in such a climate and not be absolutely left behind to mid table status.

Did Wenger and Co imagine the scale on which tv money would grow and also the mass rise in foreign ownership of major clubs? No, I don't think so. But the Emirates was absolutely necessary in organically growing the club to a level in which it can keep up. We have gotten a lot bigger as a club organically. The problem is that other clubs are willing to be financially doped to keep up.

If say tomorrow we hand control of the club to Usnamov, then I guarantee we would be able to spend like United. Right now, based on organic revenue we are not near them. The difference in money they generate compared to us is substantial even though it may not look like it to people who assume we are super rich in our own right irrespective of owners. Of course, the difference matters because yes we can spend 100m but the difference in what they earn means that they can just spend 150m.

We could compete against anyone in the world if we let Usmanov take control, but we would still have people moaning that we have bought success with mafia money. Yet these people complain in the situation right now when we are ethically spending our money unlike most big clubs today.

Costa
Hazard Ozil Alexis

Would only take two attackers from Chelsea tbh

..though, on his day, Hazard is worth two players

Shame his attitude let's him down

Of course. It's not higuain, benz or hyperzette.
Shout out to my man Chris Coleman for calling out wengs. Not like he hasn't mismanaged Ramsey in the past.

It really is the season to go after wengs. Can't wait for wenger to verbally murder him.

I'm not so sure. Ivanovic is still trash, Terry won't last the season imo and Cahill hasn't set the world alight. Sure, you'll get better, but to act as though your side is miles better than ours once you sign a defender is pure delusion imo.

Our midfield options are similar, your striking options are better, but our defence is better both starting and in depth.

Batshuayi. The thing is Ozil and Alexis are very good players but in terms of strike force we're better and we have a range of wingers who can do a job while you literally have Alexis.

Defenders and also we have the better manager with a good reputation for winning titles. Went season unbeaten and holds the record in europe for the points total in a 38 game season.

He's baiting. No one can seriously think that Ivanovic and Cahill are viable solutions.

West Ham think they're a big club when they've got fans making songs about getting into the Europa League? Sickening. Think we should put in a £5mil bid for Payet to save him from that mess of a club, and let him sit at Colney shining Mesuts boots for him...
If we get Jack Wilshere playing as well as he can and avoiding physical confrontations ... then we really have a huge player on our hands. I start him ahead of Ramsey to partner Xhaka in midfield. We had him with Alex Song in a pair and he played very well against the big clubs. That is the thing about Jack, he is a proven big game player. Proved it time and time again over the years. We have to keep him fit because he is really like a new signing. On a question of a talent , he is a level ahead of Ramsey.

No but if we get a defender is Cahill going to touch the pitch, especially considering Zouma is coming back? Currently our situation is bleak with defenders but buy a CB, Zouma comes back and we use Aina more/buy fullback and we got a pretty good defence.
