compare his height to other people in photos, though you'd need a few photos as his friends will be different height but it could give you an idea. (He isn't the tallest, but not the shortest or he is always towering over someone for example)

What you do, is you work out the relative scaling of the photo, the angle at which it was taken at, the aspect ratio and the percentage saturation. Then you add these values together and divide by pi and you will gain your answer
