Don't worry OP, my sister got Malaria last month on placement and she is OK now. Malaria is common in Kenya, especially the rural areas and people were getting when I went there in August a few years ago but they recovered.

A few of these posts are quite insensitive, it's not at all appropriate.

My mother recovered from malaria whilst in Kenya teaching. She also beat cholera, a drought and a famine. It's possible. I hope she continues to recover.
