Why do you always stick Warwick into these types of threads?

Absurd that you would call him out for having a 'uni complex' when you have one of the biggest inferiority complexes on TSR and get the biggest kick out of bashing where people go to uni.

Nice try, at least.

I hope you're talking about Princepie whatever his name is because then it would be too funny.

He goes about as if he's the second coming of Issac Newton when as we all know flopped his examinations the first time

So you are the same poster.. Nice to re-meet you, for the 500th time.

Hope you're looking forward to starting uni anyway.

KCL is not that great honestly. It literally clings onto it's past legacy, it's no better than Southampton now (which is still a very respected institution). My friend got in an AAA course at KCL with ABB. Likewise I know someone who got into a AAA course with BBB. I feel sorry for all the international students who get conned to go there when there are so many better London universities like UCL and LSE.

Who the hell are you? Are your comprehension skills that poor? Where have I ever mentioned or insinuated a "uni complex"? Please screenshot a message of me "bashing where people go to uni"! How can you not acknowledge the fact that Vividlyclear is doing all the things you are assuming that i'm doing on TSR? Are you salty because I consider Manchester to be a better overall university than Warwick? Again i'll ask ... who the hell are you?

Quit the assumptions and stay in your lane.

Same poster as who? The hell are you talking about

Someone just messaged me and asked me to respond to you that way (they had one of those stupid role things under their name) calling you out on that

Looks like you're not liked much around these parts

If what you're saying is true then my opinion of the school is definitely lowered but at the same time, it still doesn't mean that they aren't a top institution with amazing world class facilities and massive funding.

And you said I'm calling KCL a top uni because of International rankings, well what am I supposed to use, national rankings where they factor in crap like student satisfaction and teacher staff ratio, computers available and NUS ranking and the other irrelevant nonsense like feedback quality, LOL.

King's is top 7 for research quality in the UK and top 5 for funding, and they are a part of the Golden triangle making them an elite university, along with LSE, who might be better than KCL, but definitely not by a wide margin because KCL is lenient.

I mean Southampton is probably the most lenient RG University and they are still a top Uni

"Crap like student satisfaction" XD Right, so you go to a top 20 uni, but you're unhappy there, it's absolutely worth! Also, as an undergrad, you are not going to get anything (or very minimal) out of their research funding.. that "top 7 for research" is for phd students, not for you.
Being lenient is a problem, it means they want to look more than what they really are.. also, clearing was full of King's' courses, it clearly means they don't have enough applicants/students rejected them because they got into better places
and honestly, what is that golden triangle?? because i can only think of the one in maths

edit: I found it, so the golden triangle has apparently 6 universities. So this term was created based on their research income. As I said, you're not getting anything out of that as an undergrad. And in case you think those great researchers will teach you, they're not there to teach, they're there to do research and HAVE TO teach, which is probably why King's has a low student satisfaction among other things. (Imperial has the same problem, these universities will have great academic staff for research, but their life goal is not to teach).

This is not fair. To go from his grades at school to his A*AA predictions is incredible and shows that hard work goes a long way - it's nothing to be mocked. I personally hope he enjoys his year at Warwick and that it doesn't inflate his ego any more.

The only thing to criticise him about is how he is so judgemental about universities.

I didn't say that the reason why King's is a top uni is because of their high research funding, i was just mentioning the things the school excels at, and your argument about the fact that the research funding is for Phd students so it has nothing to do with me therefore can't be used as an argument for King's superiority is completely narrow-minded.

LSE are best known for their social science departments, are you telling me that everyone who attends LSE is going there for social science? No but their rankings are still greatly increased because of how great the University is for teaching social science courses. Just because the research is solely for Phd students doesn't mean I can't use it when I'm praising them.

Leniency is not that big of a problem, sure KCL are lenient with some courses but at the same time, they do not even flinch for particular courses and require interviews for some courses like they do in Oxford and Cambridge, courses like Medicine and Law require interviews as far as i know.

And like I said, Southampton probably have one of the best Engineering and Computer science departments and even some of their courses sometimes go into clearing.

WOW, just look at you, bashing KCL and the Golden triangle, even though you know NOTHING about it, just shouting it down because you like to argue. And there you go again saying because the researches won't teach me then I have no business with praising their research income and groundbreaking breakthroughs, forgetting the fact that I'm not the only person in the world attending the university.

You literally don't have any arguments, just useless ad hominem and backtracking

Here's Mine

Underrated

1.UEA
2. Loughborough
3. Southampton
4 Birkbeck University of London
5. Middlesex University

Overrated

1. London school of Economics
2. Warwick University
3.Exeter
4.Queen Mary, University of BTEC's
5.Nottingham

I work at Queen Mary, so I'm biased, but that's just silly really, they are an RG university with a lot of very good specialist courses and strong in many areas.

LSE is also not remotely overrated, it's one of the strongest colleges in the UK and internationally and has a well deserved global profile.

I probably agree a bit about Nottingham and Exeter. I doubt that Warwick is overrated.

Southampton and Loughborough both have quite strong reps anyway, so they aren't 'underrated'.

Keep being jealous.
I don't understand why these threads exist. You'd have to attend each uni before you know which is 'overrated' or 'underrated' and even then different people have different experiences in each uni..

Oh please, Queen Mary is probably the worst RG uni out there. Piss poor facilities, a trash Engineering department, a mediocre library, ridiculously awful location surrounded by dirty chicken restaurants and probably the worst lecturers in London.

There's no way you're going to Cambridge
Cardiff is underrated because as others have even mentioned on here, simply because it's in Wales. For my course (Psychology) it's ranked 49th in the world, is consistently in the UK top 5 for research excellence, and has the largest research neuroimaging centre in the UK, with Europe's most powerful brain MRI scanner to which there is only one other in the World- Harvard University.

People talking down Cardiff simply because it's a Welsh uni, see guys, this is why the Welsh often hate the English. :nope:

Such s small, small individual. Your lecturers would see through you in an instant, time for a reality check my dear. People like you are always the first to go. Always.
