Changing courses at warwick?

Having a bit of a crisis here...I'm due to begin my History degree at Warwick next Monday. I'm now starting to wonder whether I truly want to do it. Like many, I sort of picked History because I'm good at it, and I didn't know what else to do. I love the uni, so I don't want to go anywhere else, but I'm liking the look of the Management degree. Does anyone know how easy it would be to switch, and how I'd go about doing it? Thanks!

was wondering about this too. I think its kinda rare that people change course lol so there isnt too much info on it.

I changed my course soon after my acceptance, but not it's not as drastic as your change - Law with Social Sciences to Law with Humanities. I had to write a short essay on why I wanted to change.

Hey Assan, I'm considering switching from PPE to Econs after recieving an offer. I was wondering if they would withdraw my PPE offer while they consider my Econs application, what was your experience with them?

Hey there, sorry for the wait. I kept my offer while they considered my other application. It didn't take long, but it was intra-department. Yours is between departments, so there's probably more bureaucracy.

Hi, I got an offer for Law with Social Sciences (starting in 2018) but I'm thinking about switching my course into Law and Sociology. Has anyone completed a similar transfer? What should I do in order to change my course?

Hey :smile:
You have to email Warwick’s admissions team and tell them that you want to change from Law with Social Sciences to Law and Sociology. It may take a while though as I wrote to them about transferring courses around a month ago now and they still haven’t got back to me.

“I would like to change my course from BA Law with Social Sciences to BA Law with Sociology.”

^ just write it like this and remember to give your name and UCAS number so they know who you are.

I’m asking to transfer from Sociology to Sociology with Quantitiave Methods. I hope I get it but if not then I’ll just take all of the research modules and specialise. :P

Nope. I emailed them on the 26th of February and I still have no reply. I’m guessing they may wait till May because that’s when they find out who is firming that course at the university and see the numbers left over. Did you end up emailing them? And if so, did they reply to you yet either?

I did emailed them and got only the response that they will notify me as soon as possible. So actually nothing yet…

I’m sure they will let you know soon and give you your choice :smile:
I think wait till around May and then email again if they don’t respond.

Hey, just wandering, did you ever get your change? I've got an offer for BA Sociology but want to change to BA Law and Sociology, so similar situation.

bruh this was a year a go don't bump it now

but for reference, if you can't get a 6 in HL maths, you will really struggle with the compulsory statistics modules (Stats B in year one, Econometrics in year two) and you may find the maths module (Maths B in year one) as well as the general maths of economics

Just to say I was able to change courses at Warwick - just email all the relevant people at the university and someone will get back to you. I emailed the head of the law dept (I was changing to law) and he got back to me pretty quickly and was very happy to arrange the change of course.
