Is it weird I never drink water?

Hi,

I usually never drink water and I hate fizzy drinks, however I have a mug of tea in the morning but I don't really feel thirsty? It probably sounds bad because everyone is recommended to have 8 glasses of water a day, but I never seem to have a problem with not drinking. 😕

I do have some fluids though, like the milk on cereals but I'm not sure that counts😂

:') there's water in tea . You should probably drink more anyway though, I don't really get thirsty either you just kinda need to remember to do it.

When I was young my parents would often whine at me I that I never drink enough water.
They called me a "camel".
Now it is more the other way round. I just started making a habit out of it one day, after reading the health benefits (which may be somewhat exaggerated but still).
Also, it might help prevent formation of kidney stones which is really something you dont want.
You're not the only one, I cannot stand the "taste" of water - it makes me gag

99% of drinks are based on water

OH MY GOD I'm the same!!! I've been worried about it for years. It doesn't cause me any problems but I drink barely any fluids, and when I do it's usually a cup of tea or coffee.

The thing is I don't seem to have any signs of dehydration and I don't get thirsty. Also I like water, squash, etc. but I just never get the urge to drink them. It's really weird and I wish I knew why!!

As long as you drink sufficient fluid each day from whatever drinks, then you should be fine. Alcohol doesnt really count. You cna see whether you are dehydrated from the darkness of your urine.
image.jpegI put my water in funky plastic water bottles like these and that gets me to drink it
Even if you don't feel thirsty most of the time, you should really start! It's amazing how many wonders a few glasses of water a day can do. You can't get much better than water, anyway - everything else has something that's bad for you added to it.
No, sometimes I don't drink water in days. I hate tea, and I may have the odd sip of mango juice or something. 🙊
I don't really drink water either unless I'm at school and I'm really thirsty. When I'm at home, there's always something much better to drink. Also, I don't get why people will just buy a bottle of water from the shop, when there are so many other drinks on offer. Personally, I could look at the fizzy drink section for days:tongue:

If your wee isn't clear at some point in the day, you're not drinking enough. You might not feel thirsty but it's still important that you get enough fluid. Also the more you drink, the more thirsty you will start to get so I would suggest getting a litre bottle and filling it up twice a day so that you've had 2 litres.

I never understand how people don't drink enough though, water is so nice. My sister is the same and I'm always making her drink a glass when I see her. She doesn't even have a drink with a meal
Don't think my parents are aliens 😂 and I know you use water to make tea, it's just I don't have plain glasses of water

Not really. We're supposed to take in about two litre of water per day. The original paper recommending this then immediately afterwards stated that most of this comes from your food. So long as you don't feel thirsty and your urine is a healthy colour then it sounds like you're managing fine.

I've heard very mixed things about whether or not drinking more water than you need does you much good at all.
That's probably not very healthy, try to get into a habit of drinking water.
I find this so weird, literally I drink 3 pints of water throughout the day and this is just with meals or because I'm thirsty not including all the green tea/coffee/milk I put away.

Water is jesus in liquid form. Over summer I've drank nothing but water and my skin feels like velvet. It's so good for you.
I'm the opposite. I barely drink anything but water. Not even fruit juices, tea or fizzy drinks.

Ever since I was told by specialist nurses and doctors to drink water that has been boiled for the first three months of post-operation, I just stuck to it. At first I thought it was going to be hard, then eventually it was easy to make that transition. Also I don't want to disrespect the donor of the kidney (R.I.P the 15 year old girl I'll never get to meet ).

Would you say it's made your complexion better?

definitely. I had a lot of patches where my skin was dry and now they're gone. Generally my skin is brighter and more even toned. I have also been exfoliating, but in the past when I exfoliated with insufficient water intake I never saw results like these.
