Don't think about those other students or even compare yourself with them, it will just make you feel worse. Just do the best you can for a levels.

Jesus christ.... They let you take Physics, Maths and Chemistry with your GCSE grades? You even failed English Lang..... My sixth form requires AA in double science or BBB in triple science including A in Maths in order to take any science. You also need an A to do Maths at my school, and an A* for Further Maths.... My friend was one mark off of a B in English Literature, and she wasn't allowed to do the subject, but you're able to do three pretty difficult subjects with low GCSE grades? I don't get it tbh....

Yeah... I go to a state school also. Realistically you will struggle a lot with your subjects... Maths/Sciences IMO should require an A. They are the hardest A-levels you can take, and therefore should require the highest GCSE grades. But nevertheless, good luck.

Just to mention it is a Specialise Maths and Science School.
I'll warn you - All the subjects you've taken are very challenging at A level (not that the rest aren't). I'm taking the same as you, as well as computer science, and general studies.

Expect to find the work nearly impossible at the beginning, as although the requirement for the courses are usually BB, students that get Bs struggle a lot more than a student that got As. Also, students that didn't do so well in maths will struggle in science too, as the courses are maths heavy.

I'm not trying to put you off or scare you, I'm just trying to inform you of the issues you may face by choosing the subjects you did.

As your school is specialised in science (mine too!) they may be able to offer you more in-depth help so you don't fall behind.

Im guessing you're resitting your English? Also, are you planning on pursuing science after A-level?

How did you get away with failing eng Lang and still doing sciences

Because the physics exam is ****ing unlikely to ask them about proper nouns?

OP: It's definitely a big step up, but if you put the work in you can do a lot better. Nobody will talk about GCSE grades or even remember, let alone care, what you got after the first couple of weeks - don't worry about it  It's a fresh start and everyone will be wayyyy too worried about themselves to judge you.

I never understand people who take general studies... You realise that all Universities and Employers don't actually consider it to be an actual A-level. You're simply wasting your time on an A-level that will count for nothing.

People who take General Studies usually only do it because their sixth form/college makes it compulsory.

Well they should opt out of it... It's simply a waste of time. If the school isn't allowing them to opt out, they can simply write a letter to their local MP and the schools chair of governors.

It's not that deep. Not like the school is making them do Maths/English Lit or anything, and nobody would go to that much effort.

I did. The sad thing about this generation is that nobody stands up for change. If they're in bad position, they simply stay there and wait for it to change. I've made numerous changes to my school by simply writing letters to the chair of governors and local MPs. It's well worth doing, you just need to have some balls. And it is pretty deep, can you justify how wasting time isn't deep?

Normally they don't even make students take lessons for it, they just get entered into the exam. A lot of people who do it don't even revise for it, they just see it as something extra.

Not worth complaining about.

Actually, universities DO recognise it as an A-level. Students in our school have gotten accepted using it when one of their grades wasn't high enough for their course requirement. Plus, my school makes us take it.
It also teaches critical reasoning, logical thinking, and broadens your knowledge of the world. So it's not a bad thing, I don't understand why a fuss is being made over it.
