Is an 2 year gap year uncommon?

I'm planning a 2 year gap year so I can gain some employment experience and do a distance foundation degree , but I'm worried that I'll be older than everyone? Is it common for people to take 2 years out? Im worried it will put me at a social disadvantage?😩

There's nothing to worry about, and you'll find many people who are above 20 starting uni (majority of people in my course are turning 20/21). No-one at uni will care about your age because it's meaningless.
