Strengths - scientific, can be replicated, deterministic (?)

Deterministic means that all behaviour happens without us being in control of it. Internal factors (hormones, neurotransmitters etc) control our behaviour, and we have no freewill in our actions.
Strengths -
-Neurotransmitter abnormalities are involved in OCD and Depression. It can aid in the diagnosis of many mental health illnesses, and drugs which target these neurotransmitters are effective in reducing symptoms.
-The evolutionary approach has several insights into human behaviour eg natural selection or phobias.
Weaknesses -
Evolutionary theory assumes human behaviour is rigid and inflexible.
The brain in complex, treating one neurotransmitter with always affect another.
The biological approach can lead to people avoid personal or social responsibility for their actions (criminals, rape etc)
Ignores the environmental approach - MZ twin results are never 100% concordance which means the environment does affect.
