went to give in my documents, apparently in Birmingham there are no assigned roles yet therefore the o band role offered could be for anything.

Offered provisional Officer post on the back of TSP 2016 but have applied for HO post in the meantime. HO post only requires 2 X A levels but O post still requires degree.......seems a bit odd, anybody any ideas why the lack of parity in qualification requirements?

I'd be very surprised if a degree was required for a band O job. A degree is required for the TSP, but having not made it through that process you've been offered an alternative instead. If you're still being asked for your degree certificate it's probably because you applied on the basis that you had a degree. It would be a bit unfair if they changed the eligibility requirements after you'd applied, albeit that it's now for a different job.

Its not unheard off. When I originally joined HMRC as a band O I had to provide a degree certificate. This wasn't for the TSP.

However in this instance your correct as the offer would be on the based on eligibility for the TSP. Most O jobs require 2 Alevels or higher.

Essentially the training is very similar, but it does depend on the regime, the only key difference is HO's have to pass the book keeping courses.

Yes, I got asked to take my degree certificate in for the O role, it's because I'd applied for TSP and not got through to stage 3, so I've applied on the basis that I have a degree, the bonus is not having to have an interview!

I've got 28th Sep, Euston Tower. Let's hope they'll give us some more info about the role then. So for it's been quite vague
Got offered an O role mid-August after passing stage 2 of the TSP last year but not getting through to stage 3. Only just realised a few days ago that there was a voicemail on my mobile from 6th September asking me to go in and show ID, degree certificate, etc! Wish they'd have emailed me too. Been in today and shown ID, filled in the pension form and character enquiry form. Very excited to start! Anyone else offered an O role in Liverpool?
Hi Kneale, I've been offered an O role in Liverpool too but have had no communication from them re: handing in docs. Would you mind pm ing a contact number/name if you have one please? Thanks.

I got offered mine on the 15th as a result of the reserve list for nine months so brought my documents in back last November.... however I'm sure like the ID only stays valid for a couple of months so not sure about that.*

I think kneale said he had a missed call on sept 6th. So check your voicemails or make sure your up to date mobile is listed on your application page. Prob wait for a reply of kneale for further information!! Sorry can't be more help!*

Just wondering, has anyone who made it to the assessment centre for TSP and now been offered O/HO posts been asked to go back in to hand in docs? Be interested to know since we all had them scanned etc at the AC.

Same, but I've only had a provisional offer so far. My health email came straight away and the dbs was just on the csr website. Everyone here talking about handing in/posting further docs and declarations has me confused.

I think the documents that they're referring to are their passport and birth certificate etc, which we already presented at the assessment centre. Have your referees been contacted?

hey all,

I got an offer for O officer on 28th of June, then 7th of july I was told to bring my doc to Manchester office . Then 21st of july received further email to complete health declaration and DBS form.

After that I have to chase every week to check on the progress of the pre- employment checks. during the process of chasing I received and email from bssteam that vacancy holder will get in touch shortly to request for one outstanding doc- that took about 2 weeks before i was able to get someone to hand in the doc - it seems that compagn is a very big one -

9 sept i was told again by email to send my health declaration again .
21 sept - finally received an email that my pre- employment checks has been completed .
22nd- another email came in confirming my formal offer and start date which is 24th of oct .
I was told by someone that most people will surely start by end of oct /Nov.

I hope this help in a way

hi, just asking was your dbs form the 'next stage' section on civil service website, or an actual form which you email to them?
