A woman stands on the bank of a frozen lake with a dog by her side. She skims a bone across the ice at speed of 3m/s. Bone slows w/ deacceleration of 0.4m/s and dog chases it with acceleration of 0.6. How far out from bank does bone go before dog catches it?

'Tis I! Suvat genius!

Have a go first. You need to find the time when the displacement of the bone and the dog are the same before finding the displacement itself.

Or you could just equate the two v2v^2 for both, the dog and bone, and solve for s.
