Depends on where from the north. IDK why but it makes everyone sound a bit trashy, but it can be nice if done well.

If you ask someone not from London if there is a distinct accent, I'm sure they'll say there is one. Me being one of them.

Yeah I was only having a laff and a goof, some safe fun.

Seriously though, the only time I've paid attention to a london accent was when I went to the tate modern and tate britain where I was pretending to be harry potter in a fire place then some guy walked by and said under his breath "****ing idiot".
