The first time I had anal sex with a woman, she was on top and I was only told what had happened in the morning - I didn't notice any difference.

Having tried it a couple of other times, given the choice, I'd go for vaginal sex every time. As well as being easier to initiate, the pressure on the urethra doesn't make things any nicer and can make ejaculation painful.
