Is counselling a good career to pursue?

So i've recently withdrew from my course in uni and have been looking at other courses. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if counselling is a good career to pursue? I would like to know the pros and cons and future prospects.

It would be really helpful if someone reading this happened to be counsellor who coul tell me what they think from their direct experience. Anyway thanks for any sort of help and advice guys!

Employment rates aren't good. Perhaps do Pyschology then specialise in counselling?
Pay is pretty bad. Maybe do an apprenticeship in something like accounting, software development, stuff like that which you can do without a degree but still make decent cash from.

No, there are apprenticeships available and you could also look at to doing the AAT.
If you want to live off 5k a year counselling is a super good and respected career path
