Hey Guys,
I'm new to this and have had a read through some of these messages but thought i'd post my situation to see if anyone would be able to help me out!
Currently 4th year MPharm student and achieved 1st's every year so far, so hoping for a first. Applying for deferred entry (2018) so I can qualify as a pharmacist to help fund Med school and increase my work experience.
GCSE's weren't great: 2A*, 2A, 5B.
Diploma in Digital Applications: Merit (equiv to GCSE A)
Free Standing Mathematics Qualification: B
A Levels AABa in Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology respectively.
UKCAT (not the best) VR 540, QR 890, AR 630, SJ Band 3 (oops).
Sitting the BMAT in November.
On top of all that i'm dyslexic which wasn't found out until I went to Uni, so excuse the poor GCSE's and VR.
I have an extensive list of healthcare related work experience including, community pharmacy jobs/placements/voluntary work, hospital pharmacy placements, hospice work experience, specialist hospital work experience, three different GP practices, 2 years volunteering in a residential home, volunteering and now working for a contraception and sexual health team at university, volunteering for many other university roles including going to shelters and president of a society.
I am currently sitting on a pre-registration offer for hospital pharmacy (1 year paid work) for the year between graduating and (hopefully) starting medicine.
That aside, I have a guaranteed interview to study at BSMS through my university and course (YAY!) and decided to make use of my application and apply for three other universities.
I am thinking:
Keele (undergraduate)
Newcastle (postgraduate)
Southampton (postgraduate).
Can anyone shed some light on my choices with a quick summary of my background above? Am I wasting any of my choices?
I have obviously done my research but may have missed some things.
Thanks in advance and if I can help anyone I will!!
