Students opt to apply for these extra things at any point during their studies, but the benefits are only "valid" for the holiday they are carrying out the work (which lasts for two weeks in these examples). A certain amount of vacation storage is available within rooms and on corridors which you do not need to pay for - it's just using your room as you would during term time which needs special arrangements. Again, this is standard for all colleges at Oxford and Cambridge.

Right, I see. That's fair enough.
Hi there,

I'm not sure what qualifications you are applying with (perhaps an IB?), but since the information is included in some depth in your reference it should not be an issue. Don't panic - it's all too easy to stress about an application which is already submitted

(Edit: Sorry, I forgot you had already mentioned you were studying an Indian High School Diploma! My answer still stands - the UCAS form just isn't particularly well set up for Indian qualifications as they are very different to A-Levels in format. The university will receive all of the appropriate detail with your application.)

Hola LMH!

We were delighted to see the photo of VC Louise Richardson alongside the ten debut Foundation Students on the LMH website earlier today. Everyone here at Radcliffe Square wishes your new students all the best at Oxford.

May we also say its been great having another college on TSR this year.

Just a few more days to go until the UCAS deadline!

Hello!

I'm a current international postgraduate masters student in Education, and as I wrap up my 2nd MA degree, I'm focused on getting into Oxfords Dphil in Education. Oxford is my grad school dream, but I'm worried about my chances into the competitive program due to my undergraduate degree. I earned a 2:2 in hospitality, but my MA grades in my current program are merit(high 60's), and my 1st MA in International Relations is also Merit, but very low 60's. I also have international teaching experience that adds up to about 4 years, but my undergraduate classification has me questioning my eligibility. Do I have a chance of getting into the Dphil program, or am I better off applying into the Msc program? I don't want to waste an application.

Hi there,

Firstly, please bear with us - our specialism is in undergraduate admissions and recruitment, which takes up the vast majority of our time and expertise! I've had a look at the DPhil in Education page for you, which I will link here.

Under the "academic ability" section, it says applicants "normally" are expected to have achieved a 2.1 and above in their undergraduate studies, although this suggests there is some room for manoeuvre as postgrad applicants have such varied circumstances. It also stipulates that applicants should have a mark of 68 above in a related masters subject - if this can be applied to your current qualifications, then it is likely to be worth pursuing. Of course, as with any programme of study at Oxford, applications are very competitive, so candidates who don't meet the base requirements for admission are highly unlikely to be offered a place.

I would advise you to contact postgraduate admissions/the education faculty directly with any further questions, as they are far better placed to answer them than our undergraduate focused office here at LMH

Hi there,

Yes, things are moving along nicely! Our graduate buildings are currently finished and inhabited, and the lodge are soon to move into their new home as the finishing touches are put to the quad. Some sneak peaks are available here as well as on our Instagram and Facebook pages - proper pictures will be forthcoming. The wait is nearly over!

Having just sent off my UCAS, do you know when the first contact from the colleges will be with the applicants?

Hi there,

It will take a few weeks for you to receive a response from your chosen college - shortlisting takes a great deal of time and care from admissions tutors, many of whom are also dealing with a new intake of undergraduates this term amongst a number of other commitments. You will hear whether you have been shortlisted for an interview or not some time in the later half of November.

Best of luck with your application!

Hi there,

I've looked into this but there dosen't seem to be much information avaliable to applicants:
I've applied for Chemistry, and this year we have to sit part 1 of the TSA. Me, and many other candidates are wondering how our TSA scores will be used in our application. Will they be used to shortlist candidates (i.e will there be a cut off score like in other subjects that have used it for a while now), or will it just be used as part of the whole application?

At present it appears that the majority of Chemistry applicants are shortlisted for interview. Is there any intentiom to change this and what emphasis will admissions tutors place on the TSA this year?

Any information regarding this would be very useful and much appreciated,
Thank you

Hi LMH, I've been doing some revision with past admissions tests for Classics with Oriental Studies (so the CAT and the CLAT). I was wondering what marks are normally classed as good or passable? Or do they tend to vary year on year? Many thanks
Do we get a break between doing section A and section B of the TSA Oxford (standard one for PPE)
Hi,

Any idea when applications will open for the foundation year?

Thanks.

Just out of curiousity, which Oriental subject are you applying for?

Hi I've recently just completed my HAT test to apply to your college and I was curious as to whether I'd be able to receive my test results regardless of the decision you made about my application.
Thanks for the help
