The Student Room Group

Seriously easy UKCAT percentages yet i keep getting them wrong?

Q: Following a review, the charity decided to recruit another 20 employees in 2015 to be allocated to admin responsibilities. Calculate % increase.
Additional info: Pie chart given and 300 employees in total w/ 4% of that 300 being originally assigned to admin.

I know this is stupidly easy % calculations that any nursery student could do, yet for some reason i keep getting them wrong?
Thanks for any help
Is the answer 6.7%?

No, the answer is 167% yet i don't know how?
300*0.04=12 employees in admin. 20/12 =1.67.

Fair. I'd focus on your A-levels for now, you'l have plenty of time for UKCAT in the summer and it doesnt need much work

Fair enough - What was your score, if you don't mind me asking? And yeah the questions are p*ssing boring.

713.3 average, Band 2.

UKCAT is only hard because of the time limit, if you had more time then you would get almost every question right. Spending 2-4 weeks of intense practice is more than enough time to get a decent score.

Also get medify in the summer, it's expensive but worth it.
