WI take on Pakistan tomorrow, too, with the latter hoping to complete a washout in the Test series having won the first and second Test. Pakistan also emerged victorious from the T20 and ODI series 3-0 victors respectively, and this marks Misbah's 50th Test.

That means he passes Imran Khan as the country's most-capped captain. All of those caps came after the age of 35, showing what a remarkable record it is, and Misbah's 10 series wins as captain is the most by an Asian captain. During his tenure, Misbah has enjoyed 39 scores of 50 or more, and clocked up 3500+ runs, with a 55 average.

West Indies were not easily beaten in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, but they have struggled throughout this UAE tour and, indeed, haven't won an overseas Test outside the Caribbean or Bangladesh since 2007. That is a woeful record.

Shane Dowrich is likely to return to the XI, by all accounts, with Alzarri Joseph coming in for Cummins with the hosts set to drop Zulfiqar Babar in favour of a seamer with the pitch appearing flat and likely to offer assistance to the spinners only towards the end of the Test.
Joe Root has the squirts

May not play any more of the test..
So Kayes the foundation to that innings with 78 runs but everyone contributed a little bit. England missed a lot of chances and Bangladesh pushed to 296 which sets a score of 273 runs to win.

Hard to judge how tough that score will be!
Such swings in this Test match series. Duckett and Cook motored on to 100 without loss before tea. Bangladesh however struck the first poor after tea to remove Duckett after an impressive half century and Root fell immediately too. Cook survives a very very close call after a review (first was given out).

155 runs needed with 8 wickets. Wickets seem to fall in clumps so Cook is probably vital for England. You'd have to put England in the driving seat now with how deep the the team can bat.

Hm. England placed precariously, even after that Duckett half-century took them to 100-0 with a good partnership alongside Cook, easily their highest of the tour and series.

After Duckett hit that fifty, he departed swiftly afterwards, before Root was also dismissed after not hanging around too long. Cook survived a review as he approaches his half-century, as England look to successfully chase their highest ever total in Asia. The two wickets fell to Mehedi - who else? - and Shakib after tea, following Rashid and Stokes' dominance this morning.

Bangladesh had pushed their overnight position on to a creditable 296 - which will be tough to chase, but England are making a good job of it - with Ben Stokes and Adil Rashid claiming six of the seven wickets to fall as Bangladesh's last four went down for 28 to keep the target below 300.

Shakib made 41 and Shuvagata Hom chipped an unbeaten 25 - the former dismissed by Rashid, alongside Mehedi, Kamrul and Sabbir - after four wickets fell in the morning session, with as many catches going down and a couple of reviews wasted.

Moeen claimed the wicket of Imrul, who managed to add 48 with Shakib inside the first hour. Unfortunately, England will rue missed opportunities, with both Cook and Root putting him down, and Bairstow missing a stumping to get rid of Shakib and Duckett putting him down.
Consistency is key now for England and Cook has that in droves
Like buses! I said they fall in clusters and now suddenly England lose 4 wickets in quick succession.

What did the Bangladeshi players have for tea?!

That has to be Ballance's Test career over. Get Duckett down at four and Has opening.

Duckett and Moeen gone, Cool surviving an appeal, this is fabulous drama. What a Test match.

By the time you write a post, another wicket seems to be falling!

Cook gone now

Mehedi with 4 wickets. Crazy stuff for a 19 year old.

He's bowled brilliantly but I wonder if he'll disappear a little after this series? Not sure he's ready for ODIs/T20s

A little over an hour for all 6 wickets to fall. 39 runs in that time.

Still 13 overs left today and Bangladesh could claim the extra 30 mins I think. Can't see why they would want to stop.
Stokes bowled by Shakib!

7 wickets down now. Bangladesh closing in on a historic win.

Woakes and Rashid played really well so Bangladesh need to be careful here.
Nevermind Rashid bowled first ball and Shakib on a hattrick!

3 wickets in 4 balls and England on the brink of a historic loss.

Should England have taken the series and the opposition more seriously?
Mehedi gets his 6th wicket and completes the win!!

How often do 10 wickets fall in one session?!

Historic win and perhaps the first proper Test win they can look to (Zimbabwe are weak and Windies fielded a second string side due to strikes).

And that for me is what is so exciting about Bangladesh now. There's a core of very experienced players like Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmadullah and Mushfiqur Rahim with a lot of experience. Others in the side don't have as much experience but getting there slowly. Most are around 24-28 in age so still young compared to other sides.

But then Mehedi Hasan is 19 and Mustafizur Rahman is 21 and we'll continue to unearth young stars with huge potential imo. We've found and trained some players to be good to great players and then next step will be finding superstar players to add to this squad.
Ashwin 20 wicket hauls incoming
