Not taking A Level Physics

Hi,
I want to take A Level Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths and I want to go into Chemical Engineering. I've enquired about the Physcis entry for my chosen uni, and it is not required but I'm thinking of doing a distance learning course Level 3 in Physics just in case. Is this a good idea?

Why? If your course doesn't require it they will teach any necessary physics during the course,
