right so i was thinking about my future and i want to do a degree in economics and french. in my sixth form, you can only do 3 subjects, and therefore i’d do maths and french, but then there’s a problem. i adore history, my school does my favourite part of it (russia in the 20th century), but then idk if i need economics or not.

Im changing to Physics instead of economics this week, economics is really boring imo and you get demotivated quickly when revising. Also its a very difficult subject yet is equally as good as taking History. Im also taking History and im enjoying it so much we are currently studying the Native Americans

Do you think not having an economics a-level will make applying to uni difficult?

Your sixth form is making you change 2 months in? That seems to be a miracle at mine.

Do History. AFAIK no Economics degree requires Economics A-level and I'm applying for Econ (without A-level Econ) at some of the best unis! However, I'd be cautious if you apply to the likes of Cambridge or Oxford if Econ is available to you.
I'd do History because if you're thinking of doing a joint honours at this stage, to me at least, it implies you're undecided. History will suit more degrees at the end of the day, Econ is more specialist.

Cheers! I wouldn’t do Oxbridge anyway, because I want to do French at degree level
