lol London is the only place you'd find Arabs. I mean that is the only place that is really multicultural in the UK

There are plenty of Arabs outside London but they tend to be middle class(doctors etc.) while you tend to find the richer arabs from the gulf in London.

I don't think this is the case with Dubai . The Emiratis are pretty humble people and respect what others do for them.

I have met many of the South Asian workers in Dubai and they think very positive of the Sheikh / ruler in Dubai.

However, I am not sure about other Gulf countries.

I was in Doha during the summer of 2011 and I noticed that Filipino workers seemed to be banned from entering shopping centres on Fridays. I would see many of them trying to come in after a long morning's work in order to escape the 50 degree heat, to only be escorted back outside by security.

You realise your experience isn't representative of the arabs right? Where ever you go you will find racism, in fact even on here the racism is overwhelming. Saudi has so many people of different civilisations coming in each year on year. Just because South asians happened to be disrespected in your experience it doesn't mean that they're not as respected as everyone else because of their ethnicity, it's a common thing for people to show more respect to people of higher class and perhaps the lower class consists of many south asians. Evenso though, Saudi isn't representative of the whole of arabs.

I know: like I said I more view my friends as being representative of Arabs rather than the racists and I don't know what things are like in the majority of the other Arab countries. But I stand by my point that racism is a massive issue in Saudi. I know that there are also problems in the West and have spent a good amount of time arguing with and debating racists on this forum but there it's worse, and I'll tell you why:

Even though I was treated better than the poor foreigners who were non-White, I was still called a 3bdah at school more times than I could keep track of. When children that young are already that racist it is certainly telling, as they are getting it from somewhere. Teachers did nothing about the continuous bullying (which I won't go into detail about) and multiple times there I had to hear about how ugly me and my people were because whiteness = beauty.

Ask other people who are Black or South or East Asian who have lived in Saudi about their experiences; most likely racism would have made up a large part of it. I mean the ones who properly experienced the country, not the ones who lived in compounds and went to an international school. Makkah is quite different, yes but that's because people from all over the world go their every year. I did get along better with people from the Hijazi region.

It's undeniable that racism is a serious problem in Arab countries(sadly). Of course not every single Arab will hold racist views towards South Asians/Africans, and while racism does exist in all countries, racist attitudes are widespread in the Arab world.

Plantains are amazing! They're so soft and sweet, and go great with rice.

Nah, I grew up mostly in West Africa and it's really popular there. When we moved to Lebanon it was one of the things I missed the most

You know!!! You're a true African now we accept you

I am a Pakistani, born in UAE, raised here all my life, I have a emarati culture, and seriously I have found most emaratis to be extremely humble, because in uae, everyone studies at the same school and universities, and there's mutual understanding between us Asians and Arabs. I don't know about other gulf states.

Lol, they don't identify me until I speak punjabi on my phone lol, nothing too much, they feel a bit weird coz once i spoke Arabic and then in urdu or Punjabi. It's just few of them who are racist but the rest are lovely people . Emirates, is a multicultural country and we accept each other, celecelebrate multiple national days lol. women generally don't aproach men, they are shy lol and they do prefer Asians lol . Some emarati people do look like Pakistanis especially from Al Balushi tribe, basically these are from iran, iraq and blaochistan Pakistan.
