Help! Dilemma between Computing and Electronic & Info Eng @ Imperial College

My main interest lies in Computer Science and I often envision myself as someone who would be in the coding scene (e.g. software engineering).

Last year, I applied for both Computing and EIE at Imperial, but was rejected for Computing. I am currently holding on to my placing for EIE, but was told that transfers across departments within Imperial was not allowed. I'm now in a dilemma thinking whether I should reapply for Computing this year or just stick with EIE and specialising in software in the 3rd and 4th years. Some advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. In the worst case scenario where I get rejected for Computing again, should I look elsewhere to apply for CompSci or apply for EIE at Imperial again?

This was the reply when I emailed them asking whether I could transfer:
"Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer to another department.

As your previous application to study Computing was unsuccessful we cannot review another application for this course."

Are you on a gap year or at Imperial?

Either way you should probably stay with the bird in the hand...

Theyve told you can't transfer or reapply to CS. Seems pretty emphatic.

Fair enough, that avenue is closed. I can't advise you on the rest.
