Simultaneous equations using subs

Just subtract one from the other and solve for the one variable.

Or equate them to each other - that's what the substituting is for.

As both sides are equal to y, you can make them equal to each other i.e
8X+10=-2X+5 then just take it from there.
remember to substitute x back into the original equation
