Will the US ever be grateful to the UK and prove their special relationship?

Why don't the US prove their special relationship with the UK?

The US talks of its special relationship with the UK. Unlike any other country we have bent over backwards to help the US especially in their wars. Our troops have fought alongside the US in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo etc.

Yet when we want to travel to the US we have to fill out Visas and declare all-sorts. If you've as much as a parking conviction they won't let you in. And don't even think of asking to work or god forbid live in the US! They don't want us! That's the thanks we get for this special relationship and sacrificing our troops in Americas wars.

My older sibling wanted to get a job in a design studio in California, she had the qualifications they asked for, but the US embassy just laughed at her when she asked for a work permit.

Yet (at present) we can travel to France, Spain, Austria etc and they welcome us with open arms, we don't need visas, just passports. We can work there and live there unrestricted.

So if the US values Britain so much why don't they prove it and open their doors to Brits? Let us enter without need of visas, let us work and live in the US unrestricted as we presently can in Europe. And we'll do it the other way around and let them come here.

If you're not a country full of brown or black people, then you have a 'special relationship' with the USA. What does that mean exactly? It means that when nukes go flying, they'll try not to hit you.

problem is May is all to happy to sell our country out for a country that doesn't want us but at least they won't nuke us lol

Bit like Jack and the Bean Stalk. or May and the Bean Stalk. Let's sacrifice thousands of British troops in one of Americas wars and and totally cut ourselves off from the EU and Trump will give us a handful of beans and say he won't nuke us.

Because every country has a duty and a right to check who is coming in and screen them.

Hopefully when we leave the EU we can work out deals with America

Actually the US has a visa waiver scheme for UK citizens. As its own website states: "If you have a minor traffic offense which did not result in an arrest and/or conviction you may travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program, provided you are otherwise qualified".

There are literally hundreds of thousands of British people living in the United States.

Did she have a job lined-up? Because that's fairly normal in immigration terms. We don't just let anyone in either because they say they want a job here.
