It shouldn't be legal.
Pornis destructive.
it destroys the minds of it's viewers.
I am a man, you as a woman should be the first to be against porn as it objectifies women.

Then don't watch it..
A big red P should lights up on your chimney when youre surfing Porn. 😌
The government should censor the type of porn uploaded. So porn that encourages violent, and illegal acts, should be censored.
So long as it is all legal content , I don't think they should but I would encourage
parents to check what their kids are doing online , and obviously adults are fit to
make the decision to watch or not themselves.

freedom of speech anyone? If you don't like them, don't watch it. It is already illegal to watch it if you are under 18?

Pornography is protected under freedom of speech? Since when did you last read some intense pornography? The damaging stuff is all visual. Hell, a lot of television is typically damaging in the same way.

It shouldn't be censored on a government scale, but there should be a far greater understanding among new parents (current young adults are too far gone to save) that pornography should be kept well away from their children.

I'm not talking about child porn, or porn watched by children. I'm talking about porn by consenting adults for consenting adults. If you don't like it, don't watch it okay?

Did you read my entire post? You need to read it, understand what I said, and then respond. You came early on a thread about pornography and now there is egg on your face.

Really though, re-read what I said.

It has medical disadvantages as well.

People saying stuff like "oh it's good for counteracting stress etc," it overdoses chemicals in your brain which is not good for you (specifically = Dopamine).
Pornography is vile, filthy and I personally think that it should be censored. You hear about kids at young ages (even around like 12) when you watch documentaries and they are scarred for life.

There is nohing wrong with sex. Personally I believe i should be done in marriage only but that is my opinion and this can vary widely which I understand. However, porn is misleading. It makes you think of women as mere sex objects and worst etc

My gf loves it when I **** her as ruthlessly as in some pornos.

banning porn is just gonna take a step back in terms of development of a country. Yeah some kids watch it illegally and yeah there are illegal footage (child porn etc.) but that's like saying ban all cigarettes and alcohol because kids can drink them too. Just because it's easier to access doesn't make it bad.

I never met a woman who watched porn.
99.9% of porn is male audience.

You haven't met many women.

Didn't need to know that (*vomits violently).

But firstly, the majority of women won't be like that.

Secondly, people tend to 'pleasure themselves' when watching this explicit material which clearly means they are enjoying it. This has so many times led to people cheating as they constantly find women who they think are more attractive and can't keep with one partner.

I don't really understand your point either. You can **** her ruthlessly if you want but why would she enjoy it more if she has seen it in pornography before? Doesn't this mean that she enjoys you acting like someone she clearly finds attractive in this explicit material and so this is a constant thought in the back of her head?

I mean at the end of the day, this is just my opinion and I am personally strongly against pornography. People have been traumatised by it.

I should have specified: I mean the government should censor child pornography, and scenes of rape and sexual abuse.
In these cases, the uploading of these adult films have greatly negative impacts on the victims lives. Plus, if there is a
plethora of rape or sexual assault/ abuse scenes it may desensitive people to the point that
they believe sexual assault/ abuse and rape are excusable.

why? rape and child pornography are actually illegal things already, so if you're talking about fiction i.e. fake rape or fake child porn via an adult actor, then why would you censor fiction?

you're merely theorising here - you're not giving facts to suggest why that would be the case though - we have a lot of visual violence in our media within this current culture but overall violent crime rates are decreasing - so how is your hypothesis a valid one given this fact?

More than 30% of the searches conducted in eDonkey P2P network are related to child sexual abuse. Thorn. (2015) Child Pornography Statistics. Thorn. [Online] [Accessed 29th December 2015] https://www.wearethorn.org/child-pornography-and-abuse-statistics/

As of December 2012, NCMEC's child victim identification program has reviewed and analyzed more than 80 million child pornography images since it was created in 2002. (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, 2012)

There has been a 774% increase in the number of child pornography images and videos reviewed through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s Child Victim Identification Program (1.98 million images/videos) to 2011 (17.3 million images/videos). (NCMEC data illustrate the explosion. Child Victim Identification Program (CVIP), 2005- reviewed 1.98 million child pornography images and videos. 2008 8.6 million, a four-fold increase in three years. 2010 13.6 million, 2011 17.3 million.)

And if that is not enough evidence for you, then I can speak from experience: My abuser used to make me watch, and re- enact, scenes of porn. I was shown porn and told "see, everybody is doing it..." (etc,)
Now, I'm not saying that everybody who watches porn is going to sexually abuse somebody else, nor am I kinkshaming. But if there is a way to protect people from the negative effects of porn (through censorship), because the positive outweighs the negative, then I am saying it should be allowed.
porn is amazing wtf
