How does it feel being generic middle class?

Hmmm, I wouldn't say middle class hold this much in shares. Generally due to
lack of knowledge and risk I guess.

Middle class would I guess have savings of £100,000 easily.

My parents have significantly more than that in terms of investments and I'm not rich, this isn't me showing off, I just don't see why you felt the need to make a huge deal about this given how much of a non-entity it is. If you're asking for investment advice it's fair enough (probably not the best place to ask :erm:) but come on man this is the worst brag thread I've ever seen.

You just calculated your family? What?
Nice, I have a large sum of money coming out when I am 21 and a house when my Grandparents die.

What are you thinking of doing with it? For me I am planning on moving to America and spending half a million on a nice house with a few acres (Not in a big city)

Does that mean you are upper class?

No this money is already invested. I didn't know exactly how much was in the share/bond market.

No not upper class, they would have way more. Like millions. Some CEOs have millions in stock alone.

Probably top 10-15% for sure.

To be upper class you need to be a multimillionaire and that's excluding the value of your primary residence.

What class would you be then if you arent middle and you arent upper?
If you lost all your shares then would that make you working class or lower?

Assuming his parents are earning 60k pa, I would still consider him middle middle class, of their yearly income is 150k per year I'd say UMC.

Does that mean anyone below £60k is working class?

I'd consider 40-60k to be lower middle class and below that is working class.

No, my family has £80,000 in gold and close to £120,000 in cash as well. So I think we should still be well off. Not to brag, but I guess our net worth excluding property is

£410,000 in cash plus the house (add on £650,000)

so

nearly £1.1 million

But that's not important, the important thing is the shares.

I just thought people would ask questions related to the shares and why we keep such a large amount in shares.
