Was just wondering if the effect of an imperial interview is as significant on the outcome of an application as an Oxbridge interview

Are you asking if getting an interview means you are likely to get an offer?

It depends on the course... but, for example, Physics applicants are 75%+ likely to get an Offer after interview.

Whereas for Oxford and Cambridge it's approx 1 in 3 of interviewees get an Offer (depending on course).

Ah I see. Do you happen to know the chances of Chemical Engineering applicants in getting an offer after interview? A bit insecure here.

Edited to correct: looks like there is conflicting info:

Chemical Engineering 2015
Applicants invited to interview: 55%
Applicants interviewed who were made an offer: 15%
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/percentage_of_applicants_getting#incoming-744600

The following information about undergraduate Chemical Engineering (H801) admissions in ICL:
- Percentage of total applicants invited to interview
- Percentage of the applicants interviewed who were made an offer
- Percentage of international applicants invited to interview
- Percentage of international applicants interviewed who were made an offer
Please provide the data for last 3 admission cycles. Please note it is not possible to isolate the figures for H801, and so the figures shown below are for all the undergraduate Chemical Engineering courses.
2014 entry:
Total invited to interview: 51.9%
Total made an offer after interview: 58.3%
Overseas invited to interview: 53.0%
Overseas made an offer after interview: 56.7%

2015 entry:
Total invited to interview: 45.7%
Total made an offer after interview: 59.2%
Overseas invited to interview: 50.4%
Overseas made an offer after interview: 62.6%

2016 entry (figures correct as at mid-March 2016):
Total invited to interview: 47.6%
Total made an offer after interview: 64.1%
Overseas invited to interview: 51.2%
Overseas made an offer after interview: 65.9%

About 50% of applicants get an interview.
Then within that group of interviewees about 60% got an offer after interview.
(Data shown in above by jneill also shows similar figures)

For Imperial Chem Eng, the interview do play a role in the selection process. Unlike Manchester/Loughborough Chem Eng, where an interview basically means an offer.

Which course?

e.g. for Electronic Engineering it's approx a 70% offer rate after interview.

But generally yes the interview is a factor in Imperial's admissions decisions and being called for interview doesn't guarantee an offer.

What about computing
What about for mechanical engineering ?What percentage get asked to an interview and what percent of those get an offer ?
If you've got an interview invite or offer, or if you'd like to see who received one, feel free to check this out: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=6824820

A little late here, but can you tell me whether interviews are neccassary for offers?
I haven't recieved any interview as of now (about 1.5months since sending my application to ICL). I am doing Biomed. Engg., so if I DONT get interview, is an offer still possible?
I'm not sure, but I know my classmate who's applying for BmE has taken the interview. She applied around Oct 1.

Wow! Have you already received the interview invitation? I'm also applying for Chemical Engineering.
