How important is a personal statement, how stupid would it be for me to try write one for both medicine and maths?

You have missed the deadline for medicine applications.

If you are thinking about applying during the next cycle (medicine deadline will be 15th Oct 2017) then the PS should focus entirely on medicine. Your PS is rarely important for maths courses.

Nah it's 2018 entry, do u think it would still be possible to get offers for maths with no relatable personal statement?!

Definitely. But you should make 4 of your choices Medicine.
Your PS should be 100% focused on medicine, otherwise you run the risk of a rejection. Maths admissions tutors will not get many PSs for medicine (usually the 5th choice is something like biochem or biomed), but you could get an offer. Your best bet is to email the admissions tutors and ask - they may ask you to submit a separate maths PS

Nah. Honestly, maths admissions staff don't much bother with PSs. :smile:

While a PS isn't necessarily important in maths courses - admissions tutors may not like to see a PS for a totally different subject (they may also be fine with it). You don't have anything to lose by asking, and it's the only way to know for sure, but equally you could just apply and see what happens.
