Applying for psychology without the A level

Can i still apply to a psychology course without doing it in my A leves, i currently study health and social and applied science.
Also if not is there any courses that i could do that would still lead me into the same path...... im wanting to either become a psychotherapist or something like that after univeristy so i was wondering is there any other courses i could do?

Yes, you do not need A-level Psychology to study it at uni. I have a friend who studies it at the University of Kent, and in fact their first year was mostly A-level stuff (to accommodate for people that haven't done it at A-level) so I would suggest looking at unis you're interested in and their entry requirements.

What you may need however is Maths - Psychology is also about interpreting statistics and data.

Check the requirements at a range of different Unis, and be aware that there are subjects 'like Psychology' that you could apply for that don't require Maths- also at Bristol is Childhood Studies - http://www.bristol.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/2017/childhood-studies/bsc-childhood/

Have you looked into what psychology actually entails- because most of it isn't about therapy or clinical psychology? Most psych grads dont end up becoming psychologists since the market is so saturated with psychology graduates. I would look into what psychology actually is by going to one of these resources- i would also take a look at counselling, psychotherapy and speech and language therapy courses if your just interested in these aspects of psychology.



You definately don't need a level maths for psychology... sometimes grade C in GCSE maths though. Most psych courses dont go into that much depth into mathematical statistics... you just need to learn which tests to use in certain situations, sometimes do some basic calculations.
