Help with University?

I was predicted A*AA (due to the school screwing me and me being too scared to ask to get my grades bumped up), as a result of not getting them bumped up I was unable to get into my top 2 choices. I still managed to get places at good unis (other 3 are top 10), however now Idk what to do. I'm also thinking of changing course but idk. Should I go to a still good university, wait and see my results and defer a year or should I start looking at other courses? The requirements for pure physics are lower than mech engineering (what I applied for), or even biology. Now I have no idea what course to go for. Any advice? (sorry for typos/mistakes wrote this in like 30 seconds)

You ve yet to start and you're having doubts about the subjects you've chosen, that's not a good sign. Do you still like the universities you applied to?

The 5 I applied to were Cambridge, Imerial, Leeds, Warwick and Exeter (Exeter was the "backup"). All of these seem fine, but I was so set on engineering for the past few years and now I'm questioning it. Idk whether or not to do biology or physics or engineering. Biomedical might be a good choice.....

with it being this close to the ucas deadline and it being unlikely that those universities will have places for courses in extra or clearing or adjustment. I think you should look at defering to give yourself some time to make the decision.

Yh I know I would need to defer to have a chance of going to a good uni, but it was whether or not I should stick it out with my course now.

you don't sound that into engineering, better to wait a year than do 3 years of one you dont love.

Cambridge and Warwick are general courses where you later specialise.

But I agree it sounds like a gap would give you time to achieve the grades you need AND consider the best course for you.
