Make eye contact, take your time to get the pronunciation correct, don't worry about making little mistakes. Just keep calm and collected, memorise your speech properly and you will be fine! Try and speak with fluidity but don't get through it really quickly.

As well as answering questions, try asking the teacher who is assessing you a question. (For example if the teacher asked you something like “Quelle est ta matière préférée?" you could answer, then ask them something similar/ ask their opinion, e.g. “Quelle etait votre matière préférée à l'ecole?") It makes the assessment feel more like a natural conversation, which helps improve your grade, and also buys you time while you think of what your next answer will be.
