Yeah I'm Asian and I feel this too. Don't get me wrong, I have friends who are white too but my closest friends are Asian because I get in much better with Asians and black people. Maybe try finding something you have in common with some of them. Most of what I have with my white friends is small talk but if you find something to talk about, such as what you're doing in your course at the moment, resources you could use etc, you might find it easier to start and carry on a conversation with them?

lemme guess youre from london and u don't know any white ppl so you dont know how to speak to them looool

Nope, the complete opposite. The county I live in is really white, I'm used to them. Normally I'm the only coloured person.

I agree with the person who said it is probably because these people are middle class or grew up in a less multicultural area? I know what you mean about dead banter. Some white people are really friendly but there is just this barrier that can't be crossed. I feel like I have to be careful about what I say, how I talk and how much of myself I can expose to them. I am from a working class background and I have to adapt the way I talk at work. I remember driving and I usually answer my phone on speaker but stopped because I don't know what my whie colleague will think of me if the way my friends and I talk. I don't know if they are ready for our kind of banter either. Another thing is they tend to be snitches lol. Like over minor things. (An example would be ... I call in sick at a training day at work. Can I tell bob or nah? Will he snitch on me?) From experience, I have found them harder to trust. So if I want to tell some funny stories which involve my family, I feel careful saying it around white people. Especially if they are middle class.
They seem to be really sensitive too. I want to be able to make fun of white people for eating **** like shepherds pie and thinking ketchup is spicy without them telling me to go back to my country. Those are the kind of white people I **** with because I can have banter. They usually tend to either have grown up in a multicultural area or are just open to understanding other cultures. Really understanding them and accepting that their way of life is different, not superior (I agree with the person who said that they act like they are better than others sometimes).

And this is thread is not racist. It's sad that when me or my friends meet a chill white person it can be a surprise and we will make a point of saying 'he/ she is white but so chill.' We are not against white people. I would like to have more white friends who I really can have banter with and who I can trust

Omggggg someone who finally gets it!
This/thread. Are u Asian too

Don't care- take a payday loan. Patriotism which results in 100,000+ deportations a year is what we need

.....good luck with that.
Could sit here and argue but you're clearly too thick. It's people like you that cry about immigrants 'stealing' your jobs when none of you were ever qualified/educated enough for them anyways.
Some of the spelling and grammar in this thread is simply atrocious.

omg me and my friends feel exactly the same. We do try really hard to talk to white people but we haven't found any interesting ones yet. They're idea of entertainment is just getting drunk all the time

when you accept a conditional offer for study - more often to not, the university will make you do a questionnaire designed to pair you with similar people for your accommodation in your first year

Never heard of this. What Unis do that?

It's an internet forum not real life, chill. I'd rather not offend some people I like on here. Regardless, it's white trash like you that fails to realize that you're just as backwards as some of the immigrants you're always going on about.
Also, i've noticed that it tends to be struggling working class white people that share your sort of views. Makes sense, you all flopped in life and are bitter and want someone else to blame.

You seem to miss the bigger picture the current working class in areas such as Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Sandwell were actually doing rather well for themselves and was actually considered middle class in terms of wages in the 1970's but all took a big pay cut in the 1980's because the British Steel union was conquered by Thatcher who decided we needed to compete with China (not going off on a tangent this is all relevant) Then when mass immigration started in the 1990s/early 2000's many people from other countries had worked in simliar lines of work, and had less wage demands than the British, it was also convenient the richer areas over the last 5 years have seen less immigrants why? Immigrants vote Labour so end up living in Labour seats in the midlands/Yorkshire. Also it is worth mentioning during this time jobs in the services sector was on the up and people in poorer industrial areas in the country was still living with wages 20 years in the past, this is not our fault-it is the government's for A allowing our manufacturing to go down the **** Creek B allowing mass immigration of people many of who was skilled in that area C distributing them disproportionately in the north and the Midlands. Bar London the south has barely any immigration compared to us

I don't want to sound rude or anything but I'm Asian and I go to a uni where its 99% white. I'm the only Asian in my class, along with my friend. The people in my class are so boring, have dead banter, and just generally there's still that awkwardness there between the whole class even tho it's been 5 months into the course. It's not that I'm unfriendly, but outside the classroom I don't really feel like chilling with them, or even getting to know one of them on a level. If my friend wasn't with me, I probably would have dropped out.

I don't know why, but I find it harder clicking with white people, their banter is dead and they're conversations are boring. I really hate going into lessons but like the course itself. Shall i transfer to A diff uni where there r more people I can click with More easily and socialise with. I hate going in because I don't like my class, the way they are, and their awkwardness

Why not gel with the white people more? They'd love to know more about Japanese/Chinese people and hear about your differences!

Lol or just move to London, or an Asian majority area?

And nobody cares about ur motto, so calmly sit back down u little w boy. Nobody's going any where, ur people called us over here to help rebuild ur economy and country, as well us ****ing over and looting our land for their own benefit for hundreds of years. We're still helping ur economy even now, are we stealing and exploiting ur country like u did to ours. No. Shush and appreciate us.

Like where? There are no Asian majority areas, just Chinatowns...

Dusseldorf has many Japanese

Oh, so are you of Japanese, Chinese, or Korean descent?

Neither? You're Indian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi? Then you're not Asian. Asians have almond-shaped eyes. Call yourself a Desi or 'from the sub-continent', please.

I'm white and my conversations are fascinating.

Either you're socially inept or you've put yourself on a course full of boring people. Perhaps both.

no they wouldn't, all the white people I've come across act cold towards me and it seems like they're trying to stay away from me (probably because I'm coloured). They look at me like I'm dirt or something:angry:
