Anyone on here apply to Newnham? Not really expecting an email since they made us apply via post, and my Dad swears he heard a the squeak of a physical filing cabinet, complete with rattling keys, when he rang them up once...
news from John's?
Have any St Catz rejection emails been handed out?

thanks very much, do you think it's more likely I'll go to my underwritten college or be taken from the summer pool? I haven;t received a letter yet

It's more likely that you'll go to another college if the Med and Vet Med scheme are anything to go by. I would guess there's probably a 75% chance you'll end up at a different college but that is just a guess.

Just got rejected via post from Jesus College for Medicine.
I was pooled, but not fished.

Just goes to show that reinterviewees really shouldn't complain because they've been given a second chance!

After today, I will not be returning back to this thread lol

Really sorry to read this. :frown:

You've been through quite a rollercoaster but, as you well know, it's especially tough for medics and at least you have a medicine offer in the bag elsewhere. You'll be a fantastic medic - any ideas yet what specialisation?

It's a new scheme introduced this year to tweak our admissions processes. Excet for in medicine and Vet med (where they've been operating for a while), they can only go to people with either the POLAR3 flag or the OAC flag. These are people from areas which are under-represented at Cambridge and who A Level results show had been missing out on offers when probably they should not have.

The Open offers scheme, therefore, makes sure that such people get offers from Cambridge. After the poolside meeting in each subject, the attenders and the subject convenor recommends those with the flags whom they feel have been unfortunate not to get a place in the Pool and they wre then considered by a group of ATs (myself included) and recommended for Open offers. They were then offered to colleges to underwrite and most were then subsequently underwritten by a college.

thanks very much!

Do you guys know what is the approximate time the results will be out tomorrow? And will it be out via email or UCAS Track?

Today is Decision Day, not tomorrow. Hence all the posts in this thread today...

Although Track *might* update tomorrow.

Anyone know when pooled candidates (with interview) will hear back? Specifically from Selwyn? X
Got rejected from king's for engineering :frown:. Tbh I did flop the preinterview and interview tests so I wasn't surprised.
