Environmental Science or Agriculture??

Hi, considering both of these courses. Does anyone who has studied either have any advice/recommendations/horror stories etc?

My main interests are nature/animals/ecosystems that kind of thing which both courses have aspects of. I also thoroughly enjoy maths so am not put off by it (agriculture has economics modules, environmental science has stats as far as i know so theres aspects of maths in both)

I understand that they're both quite specialised which is going to limit options in the future somewhat, but they appeal to me a lot more than say just geography or biology degrees.

Does anyone know any info? which ones better respected/better job prospects etc?

I dont know what i want to do in the future so that doesn't help, but I'm pretty sure i dont want to work in a lab, and i need enough money to be able to keep a horse but am not fussed about making millions!

I went to agricultural college and did Rural Resource Development, and now work for a government conservation agency, working with farmers. We generally saw the agric students as being a little less intelligent than us. In turn, they thought we were pretty laughable because we couldn't drive tractors (the agric lecturers just laughed when we asked if we could learn). I think environmental sciences would be more flexible in terms of future career, and agric students are mostly from farming families and are going to be farmers. HOWEVER I am almost a dinosaur so this may be totally out of kilter.

That was my concern that, unless you're from a farming family, a degree in agriculture isn't going to be of much use :/
I dont want to be a farmer but am interested in the stuff that comes along with it like animal nutrition and the like
