Barts and the London- 2017 Entry Applicants for Medicine

Im gutted too
Unfortunately they did and the admissions admin didnt sound very hopeful either. She just said very unlikely now as majority of invitations have gone. Weird as nobody seemed to get an interview on TSR after the first batch


Id just like an answer instead of this long wait

I guess most of the interviews went out in that batch the week before xmas holidays (and that's why there haven't been more announcements since). Just have to wait until the end of day tomorrow

It is frustrating to see people with lower tariff/ukcat scores getting interviews, though. However, you could be one of the ones getting an offer tomorrow, though.

I'm not kidding...I met an international student during my interview at another place with only 4 subjects and I'm doing 5 subjects...overall my ucas is a lot higher than his and even my Ukcat is slightly higher...but he has got the interview invitation like a month ago. My classmate got a rejection from the track on Saturday but no update on mysis portal.

I think it's partly because they have a quota for the number of international students, that person you met mightve had just enough to score him an interview against other international students. Also their tuition fees are quite a bit higher so more dosh for them lol!

Whatever the outcome I wanted to say thank you to all of you for being so open, honest and helpful in this whole application process! This forum has helped me in the highs and lows and although we have never met I am grateful for you all being the dedicated people you are!
Many of you will get an offer and when you find uni hard, possibly extremely hard, please remember how hard you all fought for it- surely you have the capabilities to face up to the challenges if even in this rather challenging application process you managed to gain a place.

I'm very confused by Barts entire process. Seems very disorganised and like no one really knows what's going on at the admissions office...

It was posted on TSR a few days ago that only 1 of 3 batches of interviews had been released before Christmas, with the majority still to come.

750 UKCAT and 2.1... It's kind of ridiculous if some of the stats that have been posted don't get interviews.

I completely agree with you !!! They seem to have no idea what's going on and each person says something different. I understand they have a lot of applicants but they should be more compassionate as people are trying to figure out their futures!

Hopefully we'll all be put out of our misery today whatever the result. Good luck to everyone and if not barts then I hope you end up somewhere else

This is scary, I've a UKCAT of 810 Band 2, 4As at AS, quite a lot of shadowing and predicted 4A*s at A2. I'm international too, and I haven't heard back from them

I've met international students 2A*2A around 660 Ukcat got interview...so I really don't understand how they rank the applicants

I don't know him like quite well because I had an interview from another med school and he's from China

Nope only had one interview and rejection from ucl..still waiting for kings and barts

I just called them and they said they're still making their decisions on who will also get interviews ... very contradictory to what they told other people on tsr
