Naming complex ions, electron configuration.

Hi,
I've drawn the arrows for the chromium ion but I'm not sure how many to draw for the ligand. Please could someone explain this to me. Thanks :smile:

As I understand it the ligand donates electrons into hydbridised orbitals in the 4th energy level using 4s, 4p and 4d orbitals, but that couldn't be shown using the boxes given!

This is a simplified approach, but not consistent with the information given. However, the more sophisticated approach would use MO theory.
