Preferred party(s) {if any, we can help you choose!}: Not really sure atm, but happy for any.
Social stance: Centre/Left
Economic stance: Centre/Right
Anything else: Not really

Hi,

I'm the TSR Liberal Leader. Firstly, I'm not going to talk rubbish about the Greens just because they decided to do so about us. If you choose to join them I'm sure they'll welcome you warmly.

Unfortunately for them, the Greens didn't stand at the last election, which means they have no seats. The Liberals are currently the third party with 9 out of 50 seats. This means you'll have the opportunity to become an MP this term and really get involved if you join me in the Liberal Party.

Thirdly, the Greens aren't really a centrist party. They're former leader, Kyx, and they're only Classical liberal Connor27 both defected to the Liberals after the general election. The Liberals have a broad range from Centre-left to Centre-right, which allows healthy internal debate and pragmatic economics.

Ultimately, it's your choice and I'll respect it either way. I hope you do join me in the Liberals, but I wish you luck regardless. Welcome to the MHoC

Hey guys,
Sorry for the late reply but school's a thing for me. I'm flattered by the fact that both the Liberals and the Greens want me, but I've made my decision and I'll PM the relevant person.

out of interest and curiosity, what does TMD stand for? I seem to recall a past member having a name with those exact initials...
Really, cos I only joined a few days ago. TMD is my initials, cos I'm just that imaginative!!

Preferred party(s): Currently barely supporting the Tories. Would switch to Lib Dem if they can rid themselves of the useless irrelevancy that is Tim Farron and bring in an Orange Booker.
Social stance: All over the place. Mainly left leaning, but sprinkled with right leaning stances.
Economic stance: Pretty far right.
Anything else: Voted leave. Would label myself as a relatively socially liberal neoconservative, if that makes any sense. Also a market monetarist if that enlightens you to my economic stances.

The Liberal Party in the MHoC would suit you quite well. You'll notice that we are based on the pre-1983 Liberal Party rather than the Liberal Democrats.

Our Leader, Petros is very much an orange booker and we have quite a lot of centre right people (myself included); we do also accept leave voters into the party.

I'll tag Petros in now @PetrosAC

Hope you consider joining us.

I'd be inclined to suggest the Tories for you. Their leader @mobbsy91 should be able to give you more information:smile:

It'd either be Liberal or Tory, I'd be interested to know what sort of neoconservative views you hold, as that'd personally be make or break for the Liberal Party.

I think you'd be happier in the Liberals honestly, we are a diverse bunch and you seem to have a heterodox ideology. As long as you're committed to human rights and internationalism, I don't see neoconservatism being an issue.

Welcome to the TSR Model House of Commons!

Welcome to our community - please get stuck into debating and have a chat in the Commons Bar.
If you have any questions as a new member, please post them here.

You may have the following questions:

How do I join a party?

The best way to get involved with the MHoC is to join one of our many parties. In there you can form part of the internal community and get to post in a secret sub forum special to that party to carry out all of your internal party political shenanigans.

Once in a party, you can get involved in a number of ways. You could take part in discussions, either in that party or the main MHoC forum - absolutely any user is allowed to do that so please do get stuck in! All of us started out in that way!

If you're looking for a bit more fun, you could see if your party offers any policy ministerial positions where you get craft ideas on areas covering everything from drugs policy to taxes to silly walks. Better yet, you could become one of 50 of our MPs - which allows you to vote on laws proposed to the House.

What parties can I choose from?

TSR Conservative and Unionist Party
TSR Green Party
TSR Labour Party
TSR Liberal Party
TSR National Liberal Party
TSR Socialist Party
TSR UKIP

TSR uses a special version of proportional representation where any party can 'win' - so make sure you join the party that best represents your beliefs, rather than just a big name from the real world. TSR parties aren't linked to their equivalents in real life, so please do explore and ask plenty of questions.

How do I become an MP?

If you want to get headhunted for a party, or are not sure which one is best for you then drop a post in here and the community will help you out.

If you like the idea of getting more involved in the MHoC then post in here, don't worry, it's not a commitment, so even if you're only slightly interested, you should still drop a note.

All you need to drop down is the following information:

Name: (your username)
Preferred party(s) {if any, we can help you choose!}: (Conservative/Green/Labour/Liberal/National Liberal/Socialist/UKIP)
Social stance: (Examples: Left wing? Right wing? Liberal? Authoritarian? Centrist? Open minded? Any label you can think of which best describes you)
Economic stance: (Examples: Left wing? Right wing? Communist? Libertarian? Centrist? Open minded? Any label you can think of which best describes you)
Anything else: If there's something else you want to say, say it here

Once you've done that, it might be worth saying hi in our chat thread.

You can complete your journey to the MHoC by heading to this page and formally putting through your request to join the secret party subforum.

FAQ about going further and becoming an MP

If you're hard left-wing you should consider the Socialists and Labour.

Mmm. Hello, I'm the Chair of the TSR Liberal Party. I'm sure @PetrosAC'll provide safe passage into the party.

As a feminist what're the most important issues you think need to be tackled?

Are you pro-EU?

I think women being looked down upon for being single parents is a major one.

Also I think women should not be looked down upon for taking more STEM subjects, as well as men not being called 'gay' and a 'pansy' for taking qualifications such as Child Development and partaking in home economics style subjects.

I am vehemently pro-EU. At the start when I was a hard Tory I was leave but with a bit of persuasion halfway through I became very pro-EU and did a lot of online as well as a bit irl campaigning!

I'm also a feminist and your answer comes off a bit lacklustre to be frank. Female Genital Mutilation, female infanticide, honour killings, child marriages, forced marriages, commercial sex trafficking which mainly consists of women?

Only took a bit of persuasion to become pro-EU? Are you easily swayed on most issues or was it a one time thing that you had doubts about?

Well those are very important issues and I'm surprised I didn't pick it up.

Just I was expecting on this site the normal MRA argument 'feminism shouldn't exist in the first world 21st century..."

This is a one time thing, but once I got persuaded and saw the facts I became very passionate.
