It's the teacher's job, but there is one problem:

Sex education in this country is frankly a joke. Half the 'experts' don't know their own facts, and it barely addresses heterosexual sex, let alone even mentioning that other sexual orientations exist and are perfectly natural. We need better education, because right now we have one of the highest teenage birth rates in the whole of Europe.
Who's offering to talk? You, She-Ra? :hubba:

Serious answer: teachers.

I thought this thread was going to be by that troll guy who copies peoples' accounts and makes strange threads on their behalf.
Teachers.

My parents found it way too awkward to have the talk with me so they gave me a book (which I barely understood considering I was 10). I wouldn't mind talking to my kids about the bird and bees but I'd rather it'd have been the teachers who told me.
Parents should talk to their children about it at an age that suits them, but a lot of them fail to and it's honestly not the teacher's job to be doing something that the parents should be doing. This kinda results in a lot of people learning about it via other methods (other peers, porn) which isn't exactly the most prefessional way to learn it.
Both parents and teachers have a role.

Their job? No it isn't.

It is your parents job to teach you about sex. Comprehensive sex education should be taught in schools of course, but that shouldn't be an excuse for parents to avoid the topic. After all, it isn't the teacher's responsibility to make sure you respect your own and other people's bodies.

If sex-ed is compulsory, it absolutely is their job to teach it. They can't skip it, any more than they would decide to take a month off teaching any other subject.

Neither. I think special educators should do that. They should also be young so they can relate with teenagers (by using the same words, understanding the new technologies, etc.).
Teach the basic biological functions of it and nothing else. Giving any additional advice simply endorses pre-marital copulations and that is highly undesirable in a society. No counselling or handing out condoms or any wishy washy guff, just proper morality and physical consequences if you dont adhere to it.
I don't think my mum ever spoke to me or had "the talk" about sex other than telling me to tell her if anyone touched me inappropriately when I was little.

Having said that, I'm not surprised. She grew up in the 50's

I'm happy I was taught by teachers and not my mother, would have been awkward as a child.

In a pre-scientific, heavily religious society, yes, but ours? No.

Whats your point bruv?

Provided you only poke you wife husband why is what I'm saying controversial. Youth is a time to knuckle down and work, if you arent prepared to do that then perhaps you should get aids...

I dont think science has anything more to offer. What the people need is hope and spirituality rather than nihilism.
