How much does the year abroad cost?

Hi, I have an offer from Cambridge to study Spanish and Russian, and I am thinking about the year abroad. I think I'd rather work than study during this year, as I am under the impression that you make money (as in pay for your living and then have some money left over too.) Since I am not the richest, I'd rather do this given the opportunity. Could I end up with say 3 or 4 thousand pounds after my year abroad working perhaps in a school, or are the salaries really bad?

Thanks a lot!
It's a bit early to be thinking about your year abroad, you might decide you'd prefer to study (in which case you will get an Erasmus grant to help pay living and travel costs). I think you can also continue to take out a maintenance loan while abroad, so you won't be short of money. It is possible to work too but I have no idea how much you'd be paid, but I doubt you'd be paid so much that you could save thousands. Alright, perhaps my considerations are a little premature and optimistic, but thanks for the link.
