Are there any left wing patriots?

I think I'm one of the few left wing patriots in the Labour Party.
You mean a socialist who's a nationalist?

Odd concept, don't think it's been done before

True leftists cannot be patriotic; as Marx advocated for an international community with no borders and no such thing as a nation state ergo you cannot be proud of something that doesn't exist.

You are either not a proper socialist, or not patriotic.

I said proper socialist, Marx would call him a bourgeois reactionary that prentends to support leftist ideals to perpetuate capitalism and neuter revolutionary activity.

Tony Benn, Billy Bragg.

Tony Benn, Billy Bragg.

Both champagne socialists, Benn was the son of an aristocrat and Bragg is a multimillionaire from his record deals, irrelevant, the revolution can only be led by a vanguard of proletarians.
Fidel Castro was a socialist but would be considered a patriot. He left Cuba with free healthcare, low level of child and maternal mortality, free education from child right through to doctoral studies and one of the world's highest literacy rates.

All this was achieved while having the world's most powerful nation trying to undermine the cuban economy, stoke political unrest and assassinate him as well as many members of the Cuban government.

Marxism is toxic. I cringe at the thought of a global monolithic culture of generic nothingness, no countries, no borders, no identity. I love diversity, different languages, cultures, countries etc. It makes the world a colourful and vibrant place. This is why I am a proud Nationalist.

Are all people within a single country identical? No.

Why would all people in the world suddenly become identical if you removed the ararbitrary borders of nation states?
The left didn't sell our infrastructure off to foreigners.

You can thank the patriotic right for that.

The Labour Government of 1945. Clem Attlee secretly built nuclear weapons to preserve Britain's great power status post-Empire (a status later squandered by President Eisenhower) and I think he deserves a lot of credit for that.

Yawn. Revolutionary Marxism is so last century.

Benn is still a legend, and he made sure that there was an EU referendum in 1975.
