Does anyone remember how much marks that time question you were discussing had?

The whole thing? 11 marks I reckon.
My paper went okay but 14 questions+parallelogram + cartesean equation were a surprise :s-smilie:

I'm going to do the Exam in June.

Any tips for me? :colondollar:

Practice loads. That's all there is to it really.

Yeah I guess you are right, I couldn't figure out this question till the very end because part b specifically stated a "Second model" has equation etc etc so I tried to work on it with only what was given in part b.
Tried to rush through the question and I guess I got wrong lambda :/

Are you referring to the ice question? Couldn't finish that due to lack of time :s-smilie:

Solution to cartesian was sec^2 = tan^2 + 1 identity, what did you do?

yeah
I got my integration in it so thats 3 marks, substituted t=3 and x=1.5 so thats another mark.

I didn't realise that we have to substitute it into the cartesean equation hence I left it. :frown:

Oh damn. Bad luck for me. I was planning to do the integration sum but then I lacked time. I thought the paper had 12 questions hence I went a bit slow. Later I see 14 and then I rushed :/
Does anyone know the answers to these questions?

- After you prove tan 3A = something. It asks to work out -30 < x < 30 for tan 3x = 11 tan x

- 120 (x / (2x + 3)2) dx by substituting u = 2x + 3 to form 1/2 ln 3 = 2/9
What type of integration where you suppose to use?

- The question with the trapezium rule, what were the exact values of y?

- The question with y = x cos x

Practice  And use the videos for exam solutions. Especially for topics such as differentiation and integration as he explains them very well. :h:

For the first one, you worked out tan 3x in the previous part so simply substitute what you worked out for tan 3x and then a cubic equation forms.
Second one: Integration by Substitution
Third one: I don't remember what were the values given but the values were coming in the form of pi.

-Trapezium rule 2nd value of y was 9piunderroot5/8 I dont remember the first value. (Not sure about this)

-12 to 0 integration. It was basic integration stuff once you substitute u you end up with u-3/u^2.

- tan3x=11tanx you can still figure it out, use tan3x = tan(2x+x)

If memory serves right, I think it was x=0, 26.95, -26.95

Guys how much do you think will be the raw mark out of 125 for an A*?

Considering it was easy, 108 or above for a* BUT lots of people are complaining about how lengthy paper was so that might factor in. Though I hope I'm wrong and a* is way below that like 102.

Yeah my prediction would be 108-112 for A*
Hmmm maybe 115 to 120 I guess

Yeah that could actually happen because Jan 2016 was 115 for A*..
