Who is the greatest Physicist of all time?

Poll

Who is the greatest Physicist of all time?

Who do you think is the greatest Physicist of all time?

Only included ones I've heard of or that have their names attached to some physical property. Sorry I couldn't include more.

Too difficult. Newton would be an obvious choice but that's boring.

Gauss or Maxwell for me. Feynman was a cool guy too.

Seemed the most sensible place to me. Probably should have included Hawking but I don't know if he's contributed as much as all these older people.

Considering your response, then am indifferent.
Newton is not an original answer, but it's probably true.

It's too difficult to answer anyway.

You've listed lots of Nobel prize winners and men who've pioneered or contributed significantly towards science, but to narrow it down to the GOAT?

For me it really would have to ne Newton, if I have to pick only one. A rather sour grape, he was simply way ahead of his time in his thinking.
