So on their website 5.% of students taking A level history in 2016 achieved A* in the subject. 4.% of males and 5.8% of females. These stats ( and for other subjects) are readily available. Best wishes.👍

My parents are getting their knickers in a twist because my letter says to reply. They're saying I need to handwrite it or I'll lose my place which just seems.... dramatic. Can the fab @Murray Edwards Admissions confirm or deny? :lol:

I'm sure your chances ARE NOT minuscule. Just better to be prepared for the task in hand over the coming months. It is always harder to get the A* in a less quantitative subject. Hence my post to you ( on the rejects thread 😜😜😜) about picking an insurance choice strategically. Best wishes.

I am! I'm gonna start staying back 3 nights a week and everything. Any tips?? To be fair it's the coursework I'm most worried about, not because I can't do it, but it's just intimidating being 20% of the A-Level.

I am a scientist I'm afraid, gave up history post GCSE. I think the key is to be organised, draw yourself a revision timetable ( how many hour per day) and stick to it. Obviously exam practice. I have always felt that if you can say a couple of days before the exam " there is no more I can do" then that is a good indicator.

A word of caution though, you need balance. Get a hobby and do it. Relaxation is VERY important too, don't make it the be all and end all! 😀😀

I can't decide whether I want to start revising now... I want to get great grades obviously but I don't want to burn out or just forget the stuff I revise now. Also I've just had mocks. What do you think? :/

You've got ages till exams. Mocks are tiring. Take a short break and just relax, it'll be good for you, more so than you imagine. If you really feel like you can't, then do tiny amounts of work and take it easy for a while. You can ramp it up later on.

I've started revising properly. Completely completely messed up my mocks. I consider the fact that I didn't revise for anything because I was really burnt out up until the last few days my 'break'. I'm revising non-stop now, but then again I've a slightly higher offer than most humanities/arts kind-of subjects.

I've just got a nice new NU notepad for History Paper 2 brief notes, and I'm going to start everything else this weekend if I have time (I mean I do have actual homework and stuff).

Total respect for you and I think your posts are fab. Assuming you need to work post uni, you may need to rethink this. Taking circumstances into account employers often look for more than academics.

More importantly, what about you? There is more to life you know! Socialise, get a hobby, honestly there is more to life. Enjoy!! Best wishes

I'm also part of two clubs local to me (history and amateur astronomy) and I go out (rarely because I'm an introvert but I do go out) with friends, I was just joking don't worry. :lol:
