Could someone pls help me and show me what to do step by step:

A diagram shows the plan of the base wich consists of a rectangle of length 2y meters and width 2x meters and a semicircle of radius x meters which is placed with one side of the rectangle as diameter. The perimeter of the base is 100 meters

A) show that the area a square meters of the base is given by A=100x-2x^2-1/2

I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the question but I just can't do it
Can you send the question as an attachment?

What is the radius of the semicircle?

Can you write an equation involving x and y and the perimeter you have been given?

Can you write an expression for the area in terms of x and y?

Can you eliminate y from that expression?

You can't find the radius? Can you find the diameter first?
