It's wonderful that Trump's making quick work strengthening bonds with Israel. What with all the attacks they've had to put up with recently, it is vital that the Western world is behind Israel every step of the way.

It's so far, so good for Trump, as far as I can tell.

I agree with a lot of your views but not this.

Pulling out the UN too?

"A bill introduced to the U.S. House at the beginning of the January is getting some attention.
It is known as the "American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2017."
The bill would repeal the "United Nations Participation Act of 1945," which was entered into after World War Two.
The new bill would eliminate any U.S. commitment to disaster relief or humanitarian aid to U.N. members.
The U.S. would also cease any peace-keeping operations in cooperation with the U.N."

Madman. @l'etranger your dystopian future is becoming a reality.

Many previous Presidents have promised the same thing, only to issue the same waiver every time themselves.

However, Trump does have very close ties to Israel and the settlements - his son-in-law (Jared Kushner) is a director of his family foundation which has donated thousands of dollars to (illegal) settlements in the West Bank. David Friedman, Trump's pick for US ambassador to Israel, is the head of the American Friends of Bet El organisation (a West Bank settlement group), and Trump himself has reportedly donated to this organisation.

I think there is a group of lunatic Republicans in the House that take it in turns to see who can propose the most embarrassing bill. I don't think a majority would support it, but that might change if it becomes the Trump administration's official policy...

I think Trump is a special case and he'll do it. He tweeted a lot about Obama "backstabbing" Israel

I don't think he will. His number one priority is defeating ISIS (so he doesn't really want to piss off Turkey/Saudi etc); his advisers will warn him against it; and I think he'll end up trading it off for just letting Israel build as many settlements as they like (which they do anyway in truth).

We shall see soon, though if he does go ahead with it the prosepct of there ever being a Palestinian state will be completely finished

There was never a possibility of a Palestinian state.

Why do you say that? The UN res was a good start, though doesn't mean anything now

It's like Idiocracy where things are now being run by brutish, hypermasculine buffoons who are willing to just strong-arm their way over intellectuals who generally exert control through the power of systems. I love it.

In 2 years time the UN will be little more than a pressure group and the world powers will slap down their enemies with drone strikes.

Disagree with this completely, I think think a Palestinian state is highly likely.

I agree with Trump. The Jews belong in Israel. Not the Banu Qurayza's and goat rapers.

With that kind of disgusting mindest you'll never do well in life.
