Absolute classic indeed.

Unfortunately, for me, dancehall is one of the most annoying genres. Dancehall is either really good, or really bad. The artists are so inconsistent. Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Konshens etc all come out with some absolute junk sometimes. At the market in Birmingham you can get some really good old school vinyls.

I probably listen infrequently enough to miss most of the bad stuff. Buddz is the only one I listen to regularly these days and I tend to like almost all of his music. Out of interest, what did you think of Distant Relatives (Nas and DM). Bit different of course, but I remember being so hyped when that came out.

I have to post this in here for the lols. It's a tune, but...

really hard to dance to haha, have to just stand there and let the girls err..do their thing.
@ByronicHero

I love DM, I really liked Distant relatives too.

As we enter and patience are brilliant. Nas isn't particularly amazing on it but provides nice contrast to DM.

As We Enter is the standout for me too. Never fails to give me energy.

How do you feel about the gentler stuff like Gyptian?

Indeed!

This is making go back and listen to some stuff I've not heard in quite a while. I like when this happens.

This is what I call proper hardcore Yardy music.

Yeah I like the slow stuff too.

Vybz Kartel - Romping Shop
Konshens - Realest Song

Are my two favourite chilled out songs

It's the 'man has to pick up in some other ends and hears this from down the street' music
Mungo's Hi FI always has a place in my heart.

just listened to Realest Song. Feeling it - added it to a playlist.

On the basis that I can't partake in a nostalgia trip of this magnitude without posting it:

Dutty Wine is another song that's really hard to dance to...so again I leave that to the ladies.

I was actually going between Dancehall School and this...

Soom T is incredibly talented in her own right though, Bullets of Babylon LP is a personal favourite of all my music.

Ahhhh now we're breaking into Afrobeats territory

edit: absolutely love Funky House. Really hard to find good stuff though.

UK funky house especially:

Champion mixes on youtube have some good stuff
Zed Bias & Omar - Dancing (possibly one of my favourite tunes ever)
Fish Go Deep - The Cure & The Cause
Crazy Cousins - Do you Mind (I do like the Drake version, but the original will always hold a special place in my heart)

Note sure. But they're both trash, so...

I'll have a listen as I don't recognise any of them by name. This mix below is pretty fun. Stick up posted just because everyone knows it.

Donaeo has new stuff, but it's not funky house I don't think. Everyone will recognize this though ^
