The cost is irrelevant, just think how cool that Wall would be. And the US could focus on Wall building instead of going abroad and fighting in places they don't belong.
Damaging The Wall could be seen as terrorism, terrorists get shot.

That's why you build the wall just back from the border, so anyone you shoot would already be an illegal immigrant and a terrorist, its a win win situation. Also you wouldn't build it right on the border because you would have to be in Mexico to build parts of it.
It's not murder, it is self defence and the preservation of the US.

Who said we don't know that? It is estimated to be around 55 feet, even if it is a bit shorter that will still be twice as tall as the current fence. Also it will be solid so you can't just climb it like a pipe.

I hate to break it to you... But the tunnels are already there in the thousands. Ranging from short to very long.
And more are discovered every year. (150 since 1990)
Once you come to grips with how many tonnes of cocaine floods the US every year, you will realise that the Mexico-US border may as well be a Schengen zone. Bulk of that is entirely taking place through tunnels which are already repurposed into illegal immigration entry points.
No wall solves this issue. It takes really nothing to build tunnels. The most militarised zone in the world (Gaza-Israel) had countless tunnels in between them. The US does not have even close to that concentrated manpower to look after their wall or their border.
Only a natural border like a narrow mountain pass or the sea can be an effective (semi)barrier against illegal immigration.

The illegal drug trade has turned a lot of Mexican border towns into battlegrounds. Literally. Gun battles involving dozens on each side are nightly occurrences. Their gun deaths make ours look insignificant. Gun battles between rival drug gangs and with Federal troops take massive civilian casualties. If the wall can slow the flow of drugs it might lessen the value of these border towns as crossing points to the U.S.. The gangs wouldn't need to control them and this would reduce the level of violence majorly.
