Well they're hardly gonna be using .22 rifles are they

There are fully auto weapons that fire 22 cal. rounds. I've never fired one but have seen them demonstrated. The joy of simply owning one justifies their manufacture.
Something like 2500 rounds a minute.

Do you actually think the wall will be built?

He signed the Executive Orders for it today. Not only will it be built, it will be built with a quickness.
Wonderful to see Trump making quick work with the wall. I reckon he's pretty good at this old President lark, don't you think? Just look at all he's managed to do during his first few days in office.

You suggest something I've mentioned only once here. The bar has been lowered as to what we expect from elected officials in recent years to a point where inaction is the order of the day and promises pass as job done. In such an atmosphere even a moderately successful private sector individual would shine. Trump is anything but moderately successful. What this guy expects from himself and from those around him is totally off the scale. If he says he's going to do it, he's going to do it. His ego demands it. If he doesn't do it there's a good reason. So to answer your question, yes, he does seem to have a flair for this Presidency thing. As far as pressure and workload goes, I'm sure it's a step down.

It's funny that you seem to think socialism has a problem with being wealthy.

More importantly, Bernie lives in a very evidently capitalist country as well.

The argument that 'socialists can't be wealthy hahaH!!H!h1h1!!u hypcortiez11!!" is so overdone and stupid.

But I agree with whoever said he shouldn't have backed Hilary, what a bad move.

Nope.

I understand that socialism has no problem with people being wealthy.

Take Venezuela, i am certain many high ranking party members are very wealthy.............

Bernie supporting Hillary?

He knows which side his bread's buttered on, well thought he did.

How did that work out for him?

All alone - or in twos
The ones who really love you
Walk up and down
Outside the wall

Some hand-in-hand
Some gathered together in bands
The bleeding hearts and the artists
Make their stand

And when they've given you their all
Some stagger and fall - it's not easy
Banging your heart against some
Mad bugger's wall...

I'm not sure how putting a 20% on Mexican imports is "Mexicans paying for the wall"?

If trades stay the same, Mexicans pay nothing, US government wins, all money is from Americans who buy Mexican products.

If imports drop harshly from Mexico, Mexicans still pay nothing, US government loses because the tariff ends up not making enough money, any money from the tariff still comes from Americans who buy Mexican products.

It's either a high inflation for the US, or Americans opting more expensive, but still cheaper, products from China or Brazil or wherever.

The aim is the latter, Mexico pay economically for not simply paying, Trump also gets an extra win if it does lead to plants moving back North of the border to avoid the tariff.

The government is likely to win, and employment rate should go up.

But doesn't change the fact it's still Americans, not Mexicans, paying for the wall.

It's true that perhaps this is a scare tactic instead of "I'm going to make Mexicans chip in but taxing only Americans!" but in that case 20% isn't enough.

Mexicans can be exported to Canada and imported into the US. No tariff, slight price increase with the Canadian middle man, unlikely to decrease trade volumes.

If that loophole's closed, 20% may still not do much - the US dollar has been rising and the peso has been dropping. Not unlikely at all for the peso to drop 20% against the dollar. In this case, the government wins, Mexico doesn't sell less, and Americans don't pay more.

Another likely scenario is if Mexican products become too expensive, another developing country like China wins. Trump can't slap a tariff on all countries with a trade surplus against the US - there are only like 7 countries, leading with Hong Kong, with a trade deficit against the US.

Factories moving from Mexico to the US is not another win - sooner or later Americans will be faced with unbearable inflation if everything's produced in the US.

In the first weeks of his presidency, Obama signed an order to close Guantanamo bay in under a year... That went well didn't it?

The wall will be massively over budget, massively behind schedule and a massive dissapointment, especially to those in Texas who will have their land forced purchased so the damn thing can even start.

Why so gloomy. From Trumps history it's more likely the wall will come in under budget, and ahead of schedule,

After defaulting and not paying the wages perhaps.

Name one UK/US public infrastructure project that has been all 3of the following criteria:
a) everything it was ooised to deliver
b) on time
c) on schedule.

Trump may well be a master of screwing over others to get what he wants, but this wall is not being built on time/on budget, never.

you could be right because he probably won't be in charge of the job.

The Golden Gate Bridge comes to mind also I believe Hoover Dam I'm sure it's unheard of in the U.K.
It's funny cause when you introduce a deterrent you only worsen the problem

He's the president and this is is flagship policy, rightly or not, he's in charge of this.

Brilliant examples of course, both being built over 70 years ago...

America hasn't undertaken a lot of public works projects lately. Our interstate highway system, began by Eisenhower I think, after WWII, and maybe the Tennessee Valley Authority projects might be the last and I'm not sure how they measure up. The highway system projects Wasn't officially completed until the 70's so it might be kind of hard to compute but, ahead of schedule and under budget are hallmarks of American labor.
