What lack of courage? Perhaps she agrees with the sensible and courageous decision that Trump has made.

Well done Theresa May.

Donald Trump has his reasons. He wants to keep his country safe. Let's mind our own business.

I don't think she should condemn him it's a good idea we should do the same

I hate to be blunt, but you absolute morons.
It's ok guys, this ban is going to stop all those terrorist refugees! All... 3.. of them since 2001. In this decade, US has suffered 0 terrorist attacks by citizens of banned countries. Zero. None. The ban is arbitrary and does NOT serve its stated purpose. Its sole goal is political scapegoating. Nothing like a policy that is addressing the skyrocketing problem of terrorist refugees. I'm glad the chances of a refugee being a terrorist is now even lower than the 0.00038% chance that one might be a terrorist. You have a higher chance of being sexually assaulted by a catholic priest than a refugee being a terrorist.
Trump does not care about keeping the country safe- he cares about money. If safety was the priority he did he'd extend the ban to countries like Saudi Arabia (which he himself once said was the main exporter of terrorism), but he has business ties there so obviously can't do that...
And how do you justify green card holders being denied entry? The whole point of a green card is to show you've already been screened.
If you support of this you're a pure feels-before-reals delusional. Sorry.

The biggest threat in the world to the freedom of US citizens is not Islamic extremism: it's Donald Trump.
I would like to compare death toll from post-911 Islamic terrorism vs death toll from lack of healthcare. A quick search gave me these numbers:

Deaths from Islamic Terrorism in 2014 - 18

Deaths attributed to basic healthcare negligence in 2014 - around 45k

Everything he has done so far has been wonderful.

Amazing what scope of stupidity you can find on TSR.

I didn't even bother acknowledging him because he's only this forum to jack off over making deliberately inflamatory posts

This is pretty embarrassing. Trump's latest Executive Order has received condemnation from many European Countries and the United Nations.

While May promised that she'd be candid and stand up to Trump, the reality it seems is completely different. She flat out refused to share her views on Trumps ghastly discrimination against muslims.

It really does highlight that Brexit hasn't made the UK a strong, independent country. Instead, we are left to grovel and beg for partnerships - even when that involves sucking up to tyrants such as Trump and Erdogan.

It doesn't bode well for the UK. At the moment, it seems that we'll sell-out while accepting any deal a country throws our way - whether or not it is good for the UK.

is it any surprise - teresa May has shown herself to be the slimiest opportunist politician atop a pile of opportunist politicians. firstly she has swtiched from a Remainer to now a staunch breixteer in order to gain support for becoming Prime minister , she abandoning all core conservative values to use headliner ad hoc policies to either pick up right wing Ukip voters or disgruntled ex labour voters.
And now shes binning any regard for anti discrimination, pro human rights issues in order to not upset The big orange Don in the Whitehouse.

jsut for a laugh she then has a go at Erdogan for being too right wing. could have used that speech couple of days ago and thousand miles away

Why should she condemn trump?

This isn't about upsetting our allies. It's about standing up for our values.

"Our" values? The only people who tend to hold such 'values' (if you can even call cultural nihilism a value), are a minority of clueless, idealistic, champagne socialists, living in leafy, white suburbs or hipster enclaves, thus never having to deal with the consequences of unfettered mass immigration from the third world. But you can be sure these sanctimonious pricks will be the first to screech at the working classes (the people who actually do have to deal with the consequences) and call them all the usual slurs, "racists!", "bigots!", "neo-nazis!", "white-supremacists!", "little-Englanders!", "uneducated!", "Islamophobes!" etc, the second they dare to complain about it, or god forbid try to vote in their own interests.

To hell with such suicidal 'values'. I for one would welcome Trump's immigration policy in Britain and Europe, and I believe a signification percentage of the public would too.

"One nation, Under god, with Freedom and Liberty for all"

""Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

So much American value, amirite??

Justify it. I challenge you.
She's being clever... We're gonna need America's support in the coming years. No point angering him

Firstly, that's not post-9/11 terrorism. That's 2014 terrorism.

Secondly, that's not lack of access to healthcare. That's negligently delivered healthcare.

Lastly, why do people like you always start counting terrorist deaths from September 12th, 2001?

Trump signed an executive order blanket banning nationals from 7 countries from entering the country (including those with a valid green card if they happen to leave the U.S.), and our Prime Minister says absolutely nothing.

That is utterly shameful.

I believe she has voiced her disapproval since.

A quick google search and you'll find this (and more)

Are you one of the people who thought Obama should keep his nose out of the UK's business when he opined about us leaving the US of E?

If not, what are your thoughts on the similarities?

I have already laid out my justifications for Trump's immigration policy in previous threads. I'm sure you can find them yourself.
There is this thing called "diplomacy", something tells me that you would be pissed off if May went to the EU and said "yeah, fuct **** off, we're leaving now"

I'd be pissed of if she said that to Trump - she'd be sinking to his level.

However a diplomatic response doesn't mean turning a blind eye to an obviously wrong policy. It means stating disapproval and giving reassurance to those affected that she doesn't support such measures. That is especially so since at least one of her colleagues, a Tory MP, is now banned from the US because of this order.

As it goes, May did eventually work up some courage and said she disagrees with Trump's EO. And Trump has been losing court cases left right and centre over the issue - which is fantastic news.

Grudgingly and under great pressure.

It's pretty much a sign of the new neo-fascist era that one of her own MPs would be banned from the US under this pandering dog whistle hate policy, yet she was unwilling for some time to say a word against it. He must be wondering seriously if the party he has chosen is really wanting him, as they are apparently prepared to be thoroughly indifferent to his religion and race as soon as it comes under attack by a reactionary power.

No, post them here please.
Stewart Lee has been pointing out that current trends in America were largely forecast by Clint Eastwood movies. Perhaps the most significant being his Nostradamus-like anticipation of the Trump/May meetings.
