Relieves boredom or to have fun or some people just like a challenge.

Then you have the people who gamble to try and win back what they lost.

The thrill of winning, or losing, money is fun! If you gamble sensibly it can be treated like any other sort of activity.

For example someone would happily pay say £50 to watch a football game for 90 mins of entertainment. Someone could also take that £50 to a casino and gamble with it because they find it fun, if they lose it all they've spent £50 for a night of entertainment, if they win some then that's great they've actually made some money through having fun!

Gambling becomes a problem when people don't set a limit on how much they're willing to lose, or try to chase their losses. You should never go into gambling expecting to win money, the odds are always against you in casinos or on bookmakers.
I find poker enjoyable not for the money just the game itself

They are insane. They just don't know the value of money, and use it to play. That's it.

And, what's your point? Does that mean people can't have fun playing with what they can afford to lose?
